Hart for the semi, Panti for the final.

Got to be happy with that. We all know the semi is actually the final.

That makes more sense of Joe for the semi, and should we get into final then hand the gloves back to Panti.

If I were Costel and the club tried a twats trick like that with me I'd tell 'em where to shove the gloves for the final.
Let's be honest with ourselves - the average Joe we have this season isn't comparable with Joe we had last season (who was excellent . . . except for his distribution).
This season Costel looks better than Joe in so many respects and I feel that the club should show him the respect he deserves and keep the winning formula.

Let's have the big fella between the sticks!
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Based on a few cup appearences?. Best defence in the league and Hart most clean sheets.

Not denyinf he hasnt fucked up a few times but do you not think Panti might have if he had played all season.

We play Chelsea in a cup semi so its my opinion we should play our best team so its Joe all the way for me.I can't fault Panties contribution but i don't think we can afford to be sentimental when it's such an important game.

RB, I'm half persuaded by your very eloquent argument and, yes, Costel might have dropped clangers like Joe if he'd had a run of PL games, but while we do know that Joe's become a bit dozy at times we can only surmise how Costel would've coped and he may well have got even better with the game time like most goalies do. Furthermore, I believe that Costel is an excellent keeper, that he has talents that Joe will never have (fast accurate distribution / area domination etc.) and that he's only stayed with us because he's respected for his talents and has been given the FAC as his competition to prove his talents and ensure that he maintains his status as an international keeper.
Yes Joe has a fantastic clean sheet record but that's not down to Joe being faultless, it's got an awful lot to do with our defence (best in the county by a mile - I bet I'd keep some clean sheets with our defence in front of me). One of the reasons we've not scored as many this year is that we now defend at every point on the pitch and our front men get tired with all the mileage covered - no wonder Joe has clean sheets eh?
We've both seen many games this season where the opposition has had very few shots on our goal but Joe's looked slow and conceded while we've peppered the opposition keeper with little result - that's a sure sign that Joe's having a bad 'un and he has been having one far to often this season to the degree that my hearts in my mouth whenever the opposition get within 10 yards of his area. And set pieces / free kicks / corners and crosses? Well I'd rather have the big fella dominating his area and not relying on Tevez stood on the goal line to do the honours.
On the basis that Joe's gone backwards this season and that Costel deserves the game, not as charity but on hard earned merit, I'm putting my vote with him.

PS. I still respect your opinion though - I was holding a false mental image of Joe myself until the derby where his downsides became painfully obvious.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Panti seems to be nervous at the start of a game and then settle into it.

Sorry for him but too much at stake for us and also for Mancini so I think Joe will start.

He's played all the games and if he plays the semi, he has to play the final.
He has got to be given the opportunity. If he is shite, then we get rid in the summer and get a new back up keeper.

that's hardly a semi, is it? i think that's the whole enchilada. The URL contents of "white mens sexy panties" pretty much says it all.

Related, i had a pair of bikini style underpants i bought half by accident when i ran out of unders on a business trip, and i swear as soon as i put them on i popped a raging boner. It was impossible to wear them...they hugged my cock and balls so snugly i couldn't even think.

I miss them just typing about them....i threw them out because they were so completely ridiculous, but maybe i should have seen where the relationship was going instead of judging so quickly?

Im actually surprised at how many are all for Pants playing in the cup semi, it would be a major gamble in my book. Its a really important game that can make or break the season it has to be our best 11 available.

Yes I totally agree we should play Costel in net in our biggest game of the season, makes perfect sense when you think about it rationally.

He's played at home nearly every game so far against, with all due respect, below par opposition which is why he was selected in the first place. Besides the fact that the last three opponents Barnsley, Lids and Watford not only barely got near our box but I'm sure didn't get ten efforts on target combined. Panty is defo the man to guide this team to FA Cup success against a Cheslki side in London who are FA Cup specialists in the last decade, still riding there Champs League success and have a manager skilled at winning knock-out cup competitions.

Is there any chance we can get Jamie Pollock and Badbuy back just to ensure our safe passage to the final?

Mancini didn't put Hart in when the scum was the opposition last year ...

On that thought, how about Panti to start in the goal at the derby?

Could be great experience for the lad, plus switch to Hart in FA Cup here on ... and everyones happy, incl. Panti who might not be too sad about being left out.

Or as I said earlier ... bring Hart in for the semi and give the gloves back to Panti for the final.

I think Pants is an excellent back up keeper. However he does have ambition to be a No1 choice. My slight fear is that dropping him for the big game after he has played the rest would feel like a vote of "no confidence" for him and we'll be looking to find a back up keeper of similar quality.
Besides which, I think he would do just fine.
So Costel would be my choice.
