Sorry not a strong thread this I know but curiosity and excitement etc..

I take it we'd all give the huge creature the nod for the final then? Totally deserves it!

Yeah against Chelsea in the charity sheild he spilled a shot and sat on his ass while Bertrand followed up to score. It was poor from him to be fair.

He is a very capable keeper and I am sure will play in the final. Not sure I get the big hype that he was awesome but he'll do for me.A bit worried when he was slow off his line twice but he made that top save and took a couple of crosses late on that were important.

Got nowhere when he came for a free kick early on which wasn't confidence inspiring but he was superb in the second half. That save at Mata's feet was a peno with any other keeper.

Deserves the final and he'll get it.

Spot on , Harts standards have definately dropped this season and he deserves to be on the bench for this competition , Panty deserves it 100% and Im made up he didnt let anyone down.

Agree with you both. He overcame a nervy start to have a very solid game. Since he's been with us he's not complained about rarely playing and seems to really enjoy being part of a squad of top class players.

Before the semi final, I probably would have played Hart (thinking that would be the safer option). But now you have to play Pantilimon in the final - he's earned it.

I think Hart will be disappointed not to be involved, but I think he'll understand. He's still the no. 1 but players in every other position are rotated, and so in the case of the FA Cup I think we can afford to rotate the keepers.

That's hardly a surprise. Have you seen the cunt's armspan? He was practically laying the ball at their feet.

My unbiased mate who was watching the match said that Panty was shitting the living daylights out of him and for the free kick you can see why & he then spent the rest of the match a little close to his line for my liking - despite that he had a good game and deserves a final selection

one occasion I remember, he came out to claim a cross, caught it ... held it a minute then booted it upfield sideline, right to ... aguero or tevez's boot. We immediately had initiative in their half, and I remember being quite pleased about it!

He should have come for a few of those long balls, especially when they were bouncing in the box, but otherwise played well.

If he was told he got the FA and League cups, then only right he plays in the final an will deserve his winner's medal

That was some goalkeeping with Mata, that kind of save can so easily go wrong and he got it bang on. I like that fact he catches most things which is so rare nowadays. He did give a few around me kittens coming off his line but he caught the ball and was commanding, you can't ask anymore than that and he deserves his day in the sun.

His confidence seemed to soar after the save at Mata's feet. Admittedly he wasn't tested too much beforehand but after that save he really took control of the penalty area - catching all of the crosses, ordering the players about.

It's hard to get a good goalkeeper who is happy to be a no. 2 and I imagine one day he'll want to move on to become a first team regular somewhere if he can't achieve that with us. But at the moment he seems happy to be part of the squad, and if giving him the cup games is key to that, then that should continue.

After his performance yesterday, I'm sure he can't wait for the final.
