What a Week That Was

Postby City64 » Mon Apr 15, 2013 3:43 pm

Well ,

What a magnificent week that was .......

Outclassed , out thought , outsung the rags on their cabbage patch then win the semi final of the FA Cup at Wembley a few days later. Cant remember (may 13th 2012 apart) a better week than this :)

Better get used to it.We will have such weeks time and again every season and we need to get similar results more often than not. But that mustn't allow us to get sloppy when we have the ordinary weeks with no so called big games. We need to roll over on the teams at the bottom end of the table.

Has been a great week.

If we win the FA Cup and finish second it will have been a good season.

I love the day out at Wembley, maybe it is the fact that when these days come around the fans there are always our hard core loyal fan base rather than some of the whinging glory hunters we get at the Etihad that want us to win every home game 10 -0 or sack the manager after a rare 2-0 away defeat.

Pretty happy being a Blue right now.

Amen. The one thing the rags have been much better than us at this season and have been good at for many years - if you beat the dross home and away, the results against the big teams become less relevant. Even if we'd beat them at home this year and taken 6 points again, we'd still be 6 points behind.

We need to find whatever is needed to beat teams week in and week out, whether that be a different style, different players or different attitude. I suspect if we started games like we finished them or like we started against Chelsea, we'd be 2 up in the first 20 minutes in most games. Then you can manage the game out. The slow starts we often do don't help against the smaller teams, as it gives them something to cling to.

PS It has been a great week though.

It sure was, Amen to that!

And I see a couple of moanees have managed to creep into this thread as well. There are thousands of other threads and yet they chose this one to went the same opinions that they always put out. A positive thread from a generally positive poster, let it remain so.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Completely agree.

2 wins against two of the top sides in the country and we played some really high class football in both games.

Agreed. Our mojo has returned. Am looking forward to the arrival of some pace in the summer and a frighteningly good season as a result.
