I really didn't rate him when he was here and didn't want us to sign him after the loan. Can't remember why I didn't like him anymore and it's now my guilty secret.

Fair comment on the much loved Rosler, compared to Quinn.
I'd say similar things about the also beloved Shaun Goater, compared to Rosler.

He was a great player for us, but even as a youngster (I was eleven when he left in '96), I remember thinking there was something about his personality that got on my tits. When he then slyly slagged the club following our relegation and his signing for Wolves, I felt vindicated.
But, to be honest, I've always been the glass-half-full, happy clapping eternal optimist that I am now. I vividly remember punching the air in delight when I saw on teletext that the Gareth Taylor deal had gone through.

I think he's a decent player, who has been good this season but not exceptional (as others think), and I can't see him turning into a world class player.
I hope he does, but just don't see what attributes he has to get him there at present.
In my opinion, he's not good in one-on-one situations and neither is he good in the air. The amount of times the opposition launch an attack up to a forward who Nastasic is marking, the forward has time to bring it down and lay it off to someone else. Nastasic not cutting the ball out then is unnoticed as the attack moves on and it becomes someone else's responsibility. His strong point is his calmness on the ball, which is excellent for someone of his age, but it's the key defensive attributes that concern me.
He's slotted in without too many problems this season, but then he is surrounded by Clichy, Zab, Kompany and Barry. The few times both Kolo and Lescott have played this season, they've had standout games. Nastasic hasn't.
That probably seems quite harsh on someone who is so young, and I would love him to prove me wrong. I'm just not sure he will.

Possibly the most over-rated player to don a city shirt...pinged the odd crossfield ball...lazier than Jo on the passover
