Bloody hell, them games bring back some good or indeed bad memories for me. Cardiff away, all i could think was fuck me, what would have happened to us had we won?!!!! That Stoke game on boxing day, typical us we take 15000 and get beat, i think nabber scored for us.Similarly Luton away in the league cup, they had banned away fans due to Millwall and their chairman wanting to crawl up Twatchers arse. We were the first set of away fans for a cpl of years to grace what can only be described as a subbuteo ground and even with the inflatables of which there were many including paddling pools, blow up dolls, frankenstiens and naturally the obligatory bananas, then we promptly got beat 3-1.

That promotion season that Doug alluded too, with the Bournemouth game drawing 3 all after being 3 up, Ian Bishop scoring for them and twitcher being there manager. Swales announced a crowd of about 30 000, it was the most packed in i had ever been at Maine Road, there was at least 45 000 there that day.

We took about 16 000 to Notts County ( they even gave us the home end) who had already been relegated, we needed a win to go up. You guessed it we were 3 nil down after half an hour and lost 3-2 after several delays due to a bit of naughtys. We did go up that season by thrashing Charlton 5-1 at Maine Road.

I could go on, but the one game that will stick with me forever was last season versus QPR, just the best, it will never be beaten.

FA Cup (2nd Round?) against Darlington - it was cold, I wore a sheepskin coat & all the locals were up for it. We were shit and only a late Paul Dickov equaliser got us a replay at home which we duly won. It's a low point that keeps me rooted through these heady days of success.

I was going to suggest that game to as i was there. My mate's first attendance at a city match and that happens, such an unbelievably crazy game that you just couldn't write the outcome.

My first City game against Brum. Ned was on a rare foray to the forward line when he passed the ball - to Ned who scored a very comical goal.

Brighton away in the 2nd round of the league cup in 08/09 season. Played at Withdean Stadium, god knows how it was classified as a stadium the place was a dive and the away 'stand' was half a mile from the field.

Was just after the takeover and hopes were high, sideshow bob leading the line, ended up 2-2 and were knocked out on penalties.

Not memorable "games" in themselves but great memories from the first times I've taken a couple of gfs and some young kids to their first ever football match. It's great seeing someone get bitten by the City bug for the first time.

I remember once, at Maine Road took my ex gf. It was a night match and we came out into the stand just as the teams came out and a massive roar went up...the look on her face was a picture!

Most remarkable, probably the return to a back-to-back derby win, under Svennis, when Benjani and Darius twattet the rags and Webb at the Swamp.

Most memorable, certainly, when my grand-dad took me to Main Road to let me learn what the English Game, and the City passing game was. it was the 3-1 win over the Scousers, Kiddo, Joe Royle and I forgot the third scorer. Certainly the most comprehensive excitement of my life, bar the first time I made love, and a devotedly kept memory of the love I shared with my grand-dad, along with a turning point of my formation.

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Me too. You can avoid jumping up if you score while you are in the home end, but you can't leap out of yer seat and celebrate, as the shite shove the fourth past you. Dreadful night.

Some good memories on here:

The arsenal standing ovation, the pitch invader who ran on the pitch to shake hands with Henry was not something you'd encourage but probably summed up how we all felt that night.

Ali Benarbias debut against Birmingham at home, lunchtime kick off. And his second against sheff weds when we scored 5 or 6 at Hillsboro

The early evening game against Watford on the opening day of our promotion season, proper buzz and most of the ground pissed after being out in town all day.

I don't actually remember too many defeats I seem to have blocked them out. I remember the forest game away, think we lost or drew, memorable for singing 'David platts a football genius'

Wonder if anyone remembers "Kenny Carr's" appearance at Rochdale, that was quite funny

Every time I've been to Sheffield it's been explosive.

1997: 1-1 draw with The Blades. Craig Russell (I think) scored a last-minute equaliser. Two big fat blokes- one on either side of me - had a scrap at half time.

2001: 6-2 at Wednesday. Ali B and The Chop tore them a new one.

2008: Balloongate@Bramall Lane. Also 'treated' to Danny Sturridge's shit body-popping after his second half consolation goal. I got abused at half time for looking like Samaras.

Most of my memorable ones have been mentioned. Stoke away 88, the Ipswich Bill Williams game (could only see half the pitch cos of chicken wire fence), Hudds 10-1 on the Saturday followed by 6-2 v Plymouth in the Simod on the Tuesday and another Adcock hat-trick I think. Hudds away in the FA Cup, same season. John Gidman free kick in the last minute to earn a replay. Then I got home to find my Grandad had passed away. The 3-1 league cup win over top flight Watford when we were in the 2nd division. Lakey was awesome that night. WBA away again around 1988. Not really noteworthy for the game but its as though our player profiles in the programme were written by a young Adrian Chiles. We had Cyril McNab and George Hinchcliffe playing for us that day. Scouse 1 at home in the FA Cup qf. Place was rocking but we lost 4-0. Watched Salford lose to Wigan the day before in the RL challenge cup semi and got dumped by girlfriend. Kick a man when he's down. Shit weekend. Blackburn away when we lost 4-0 on the day of the Hillsborough disaster. News was filtering through while we were watching the game. Tragic day.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Two bad memories :-

The League Cup tie in late 1975, at Maine Road, against the Scum when cowardly Martin Buchan purposely crocked King Colin whilst he was in full flow and was then seen laughing about it with his team mates. Although Bell did return after nearly two years out, he was never the same player again and the injury, in effect, killed his career whilst he was just entering his prime.

The other game was a League game at the Swamp in 1970 when George Best's cowardly (once again) two footed 'tackle' on Glyn Pardoe ended his career. According to reports, Pardoe had to be rushed to hospital and came within minutes of losing his leg.

Can't mention the abominable Roy Keane tackle on Alfie Inge Haaland, as I wasn't there..........
