Thanks for that. probably the funniest single moment I've enjoyed as a blue

Quality. My only evidence of Matias Vuoso's existence came on that day too.

you're right. I'd forgotten.
might have seen more of the ball if we hadn't kept shouting "give it to Kenny".
Rochdale must have thought it was the Second Coming
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

I didn't remember him playing, the game was totally overshadowed by Kenny

Full Members Final against the Chavs, I was in their end as I went with literally a coach load of them.

Also a freezing midweek game at Wycombe where a lone loon kept on running along the bottom of the stand shouting 'Feed the Goat and he will score' That was the first time I heard that chant and the first time I'd really paid ANY attention to Sir Shaun of Goater

Me too. You can avoid jumping up if you score while you are in the home end, but you can't leap out of yer seat and celebrate, as the shite shove the fourth past you. Dreadful night.

I was sat with a rag mate. Every time they scored he jumped on the back of the seat in front. As he'd have fallen off if I hadn't stood up and held on to him, I managed to look inconspicuous whilst simultaneously displaying a face like a smacked arse.

Mikhail Chigorin wrote:Two bad memories :-

The League Cup tie in late 1975, at Maine Road, against the Scum when cowardly Martin Buchan purposely crocked King Colin whilst he was in full flow and was then seen laughing about it with his team mates. Although Bell did return after nearly two years out, he was never the same player again and the injury, in effect, killed his career whilst he was just entering his prime.

The other game was a League game at the Swamp in 1970 when George Best's cowardly (once again) two footed 'tackle' on Glyn Pardoe ended his career. According to reports, Pardoe had to be rushed to hospital and came within minutes of losing his leg.

Can't mention the abominable Roy Keane tackle on Alfie Inge Haaland, as I wasn't there..........

That league cup game in '75 was the first one I went to without my old man. I remember fans stood on the wall at the back of the Kippax pissing on the ones coming in through the turn-stiles, amongst other things!

Niall Quinn game Vs Derby, scored a goal and saved a pen. Doubt many people can say that they have ever seen that at a game. Also the game Vs Boro when James was sent up front. It has to be the strangest tactical change I have seen in my life. Hey we need to win this game, I know sub a CM and put your goalie up front. Utter madness but pure City.

I am sure I was at a game where Harry Dowd played left wing! Can that be right? Could it have been at Bury?

WHU -v- Man City - Div 1 - 1987. You were already down, but at our ground in numbers for the final game of the season. First time ever I saw a set of fans invade a pitch, swap scarves and generally have a good old sing song. Possibly also the last, but it left a lasting impression on West Ham and City fans alike.

Man City -v- Palace one or two seasons later. My first visit to the Kippax. Still one of the best stands I have ever been on. You lost.

I'll chuck one in for my Spud cousin. Some time in the 90's. MCFC -v- THFC in the FA Cup (poss 6th round). Something got up your lots' noses. God knows what; its not as if you didn't make a habit of losing the important matches you played in those days ;] Anyway, it was carnage in the streets outside the game and he topped up having to beg a Spuds' supporters coach to let him on it (he'd trained it up there). Minutes later, half the windows went through and they ended up just flooring it through Manchester with the wind whistling through. Was only in his teens, but remembers it with a mixture of dread and adrenaline.

Oh yeah - another 6th round game. Same old City. Home defeat aficionados...Look at the strike on that ball.

Norwich at home in 02. Tiatto sent of after minutes. Ref a homer and single handedly lifting the crowd. Berkovic played them on his own and we won 3-1

Also remember another Norwich game from 2000 when Mark Kennedy came off the bench and scored twice at 1-1.

Middlesborough away, forget the year, last game of the season and Svennis' last game in charge. Got bummed 7-1 and Dunnie sent off, remember it more for the fact that it was hot and sunny in Manchester, T-shirt weather and everyone in shorts - fooking -1 up in that shite hole, old mans cock of a place! That stupid tune they played each time they scored was the only thing keeping us warm to dance to until the pigs started to wade in for the sake of it (think one bald cunt of a pig lost his hat and started to wave his stick around like a tosser) until we scored and celebrated like we'd won the league!

Tossers went down that year i think, no big loss to entertainment and a crowd that made Wigan fans seem committed.

Score line was shite, pigs were wankers but ended up being like a party atmosphere!
