He was supposed to be the final peice of the jigsaw, we even passed on Pauleta!! I wanted to take him into a field and put him down!

City fans cheering their manager on shocker!!!! Have we never sang a song week in week out for a shite player we've had? It's called supporting your team. That's nothing to do with if they overrate Mancini or not.
If Mancini wins the FA Cup this year then that's three trophies in three years. I'm sure people are within their right to claim he's done OK.
Go and read back over what I wrote when you're sober. Because suggesting he's overrated by the City fans who 'sing his name week in week out' is ridiculous.

Its about someone who lots of people rate, who you don't.
Many rate him, I don't.
Many can see no faults, I do
I therefore think many overrate him
Is that ok?
Mase wrote:
No it's not okay. Because as I've said, I don't think he's rated by many!

Since the second half of last season he has been on the decline of us and we haven't seen him hit the form he had in the previous two seasons.
Last season at the start he was unplayable and really threatened to push on and be classed as one of the very best in the world but he's gone in the opposite direction.
He also needs to learn how to shoot and put his foot through a ball. The amount of times when it opens up for him and then he passes rather than shoots and the move breaks down is too frequent. That's what Mata has over him imo.
Still a quality and fairly young but he really needs to kick on next season.

Do you genuinely think Mata is a better player? Honestly? I don't think there is a more overrated player in the Premierleague than Mata.
Before any boring bastard shows me that he's got the most assists in the league so far, I'd like to point out that Damien Duff has five less than him, Podolski has three less than him, and Walcott is two behind him. I personally wouldn't take any of the three at City.

You can say that about any manager at any club though, can't you? Or perhaps the Masticator will have you pushing on into the Champions League places?walmai wrote:I just don't warm to the bloke.
I think we are a bit nearer here, aren't we? A personal dislike is fair enough, given this is the bete noire thread.

Sorry, its not right to just characterise it as personal dislike - its aspects of what he has and hasn't done that prompted the suggestion he was over-rated. The imaginary card-waving was juvenile. The crumbling of his position over Tevez also showed weakness.
His record in Europe this season was pretty farcical, notwithstanding the strength of the group you found yourself in.
To the outsider, an FA Cup final - against a team wracked with injuries and probably going down - and a distant 2nd best in the league just doesn't seem particularly praiseworthy, given that these two competitions were all he had to think about from New Year's Day onwards.
As for what Allardyce does, what difference does that make? I don't expect any of you on here to give two toms about him, tbh!

Think him and our David together with Yaya would be to much for anybody.
