I would be staggered if they did that.

They spent 2 decades recovering from the transition from busby, having the old cunt hanging around, interfering, having the fans call for him to come back every time they have a few off games is a recipe for disaster for them. I'd be really surprised ifnthey made that mistake again - its gotta be a clean break

Can see that point actually. Would really have liked to see him start entering on a mobility scooter soon though.. waving at their fans etc like he does.. his seat is well too far from the entrance for it to carry on as it is either way.

Speculated?....so no facts behind this?

Nope, but basically now would be the time it would be announced, and that's what journalists seem to be banking on with the story. You can even see from the Telegraph article that it's not some quickly hashed-together piece (although admittedly there's no telling when the info was first compiled - most of it could have been shelved from a few months back, theoretically). As the Telegraph article states, as soon as a decision were made, the board would have to make the info public due to the club being partially floated, to avoid accusations of insider trading.

Mourinho would keep them in the hunt whilst they transitioned away from baconface. Without him they could have a problem, as i dont see that squad performing at that level for anyone other than bacon or jose.

I dipped into the sea of filth that is RC... there was a lad on there reckoned there would be an announcement soon. This appears to have come from The Guardian. So two reasonably good sources

Nah, they are all basing the "story" on bookies movements.

On a market like this, the bookies dont need to take much money before they spook and close a market. They struggle to know the difference between real intelligence and just people jumping on rumours.

One bookie went from Moyes 7/2 to odds on in hours on Sunday, but the market stayed open which tells me that there was some activity, but not big money being staked leading me to believe it is a rumour doing the rounds causing this rather than big bets from people in the know.

If that was the case, big bets from people in the know would have closed the market on sunday when this started to do the rounds.

I'd be really shocked if there is truth in this, but i reckon we will know by about 1pm tomorrow either way, as this speculation will need united to make a statement to the nyse

Beating them with anybody other than red nose at the helm just won't feel the same.

All the old cunt wants is to get us out of the limelight this weekend as revenge for last season. Its just his way of being the prick he is.

A rag I spoke with today is all on about Moyes coming in to work alongside Sir Purple nose and eventually step in to his shoes.Seemed very confident in himself but he its highly likely the rag read it in a tabloid over the weekend.

That's why last season was so special - they can't say we wouldn't have win it if they'd still had him, as we did. I'd be happy for him to hang around for a few more seasons, providing we beat them
