Yeah because he has had a better season than Joe, who's standards have dropped. Have you seen some of the goals he has let in this season??

I don't for a minute think Joe should have been in his place but there surely were 4-5 others who were possibly better than De Gea.

I don't think it's been a vintage year for any GK. De Gea has made big improvements of last year and that's probably why he has got the nod.

To be fair (& in this instance him being a rag i'd love to disagree) SoF has a fair point, players get nominated based on either high levels of consitancy or most improved? Perhaps you could dig out the stats for the last two seasons for JH and others.

Don't get me wrong , i'd love for JH to get it, even if he has had a below par season.

Joe Hart maybe has dropped from last season, with the exception of Zabba , Clichy and Tevez, who hasn't for us? To say our defense is the reason for Hart getting the clean sheets maybe correct, although we haven't really had a settled defense all season have we?

forgot that he clinched it at the very end of last season.....
i think Cech was in the lead for a long while last season and then Hart came back.

That's the name of the game. Constant fucking moaning and slagging off. Moaning about goalkeeper who keeps the goal out of the net but doesn't kick ball accurately is done by same people who wank over fullbacks who can't defend but score two goals every season.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Distribution is a key part of a goalies game which if done well can lead to goals.
It's obviously not the be all and end all but it's frustrating the amount of times he's kicked the ball straight out of play, just squandering possession.

Great keeper but can make a few improvements.

You can't get away from the facts though that he has let some shocking goals in this season. Dont know what has caused this, like of concentration, dropping of standards, not working hard enough? Who knows, but I do hope he goes away wobbles his head and comes back ready to show everyone that he isn't a flash in the pan.

I've put it down to that itchy scalp bothering him, but hopefully he's got that problem sorted now.

If it makes you guys feel any better I saw commercials in Spain that showed that Iker Cassilas has the same problem. It's just not an English problem.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Any coincidence that Mourinho dropped him then?

Itchy scalp is clearly a major concern for keepers.

Come on Andy, you should know better than most here that these things just happen sometimes. Some years you make only one or two blunders and some years there's five. He is still top notch keeper, top 3 in the world as a matter of fact, and he will be with us for next ten years at very least.

I don't think anyone is arguing that he's not a top keeper. They've simply pointed out he's not had the best season and could/should have done better.

Nothing at all wrong with that.

Yap last season he was absolute class this one he had some mistake but he is top class keeper no doubt.
