If they get Mourinho great, he might challenge for 2 seasons then as usual his lack of depth or plan b will see them crumble into nothingness and the managerial dance will begin for them.

His track record is good but he always takes over established teams, lavishes praise on the main players, gets them on his side so the rest of the squad buy into it as well. His man mangement is second to none, but long term, its about much more than appeasing big ego's.

Mourinho would make ManU better because of the better players he'd bring in and attract. Regarding long term, he's at that time in his life when he's ready to settle down and stay somewhere for longer than he's done. He likes England, as does his family, so a nice house in Hale for the next ten years would suit.

retirement confirmed on OS he's going upstairs
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

And he's gone..... Boom!

Wonder what will happen now with them lot.... will there be any sort of visible transition between managers and how big will it be?

He's gone upstairs now apparently (Not the upstairs in the sky) so will still more than likely have some sort of involvement with any new manager that comes in..... big shoes to fill though! Only one way to go from the top though.....

YES!!!!!!!!! HAPPY DAYS!

Any change will make them weaker. Could be gradual but it will happen. No team can stay at the top forever.
Think there may be more to it than meets the eye, no massive tranfer pot or internal politics linked to the glazers. Or maybe he just realises that their days of domination will no longer be the same now the noisy neighbours are becoming a project to be feared.

I wish him no luck at all.

If hes going, and if Moyes is the replacement, thats nothing but a positive.

It took them 20 years to right themselves after Busby left; lets hope history repeats.

It will never work with Bacon upstairs.

As long as he is around the club the new 'manager/Puppet' will dance to his tune.

Well, the way I see it is this:

Moyes to the Swamp

Martinez to the Toffees

Rooney to PSG (or elsewhere)

Ring the Church Bells Bacon Face is gone. Whatever about celebrating when Maggie Thatcher died (I personally didn’t) but this is a fantastic day for us. That c*nt has been the reason for United’s success and for them to be in the position that they are in. The United players all seem to be afraid of him so hopefully with Bacon Face gone all their little selfish little ego's will bubble up to the surface and United will start to slide big time!!!

They should keep the Ferguson legacy going and appoint Darren Ferguson
