If all the reports coming out are true that Pantiman wants to go at end of season then I would like to see Joe between the sticks on saturday. Can understand him wanting out of course I can but if he his saying this a couple of days before Fa Cup final day then he dont get the jersey. Yes he's played all the games in the comp but keep you trap shut lad.

FA Cup: Costel Pantilimon reveals he wants to leave Man City for first-team football

The Romania international has played in all of City's FA Cup games this season and Roberto Mancini is set to stick with him for the final on Saturday, ahead of England number one Joe Hart.

However, the 26-year-old admits that he is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of league action. He is yet to play in the Premier League since joining from Poli Timisoara in 2011.

"It is good for me to be playing - it is an important game, not just for me but also for the team. It is a trophy, and everyone wants to win it," he told The Sun.

"The manager stopped all the speculation because you don't want everyone to speculate about what is happening.

"I am happy here at City but it's normal that I want to play. I am only young. The technical staff and everyone knows that after the season is finished, I want to leave but discussion will come after the season.

"I don't know if Saturday will be my last game for the club it depends on what happens. I am only sure that I want to play, that is what is best for me.

"I am young, I'm not 35 or something, waiting to finish my career.

"The manager of the national team tells me every time I speak to him 'Please try to play more', so it is also important for my country, as well as for my career.

"We will wait to see what happens after the season. It is not just about my opinion - there is also the manager's opinion."

No regrets

Despite not seeing much action, Pantilimon insists he has no regrets over his decision to move to Manchester.

"My agent will discuss it with the manager and we will see what happens. But I still think City was a good choice by me," he added.

"I have been waiting for my chance and now I am playing in the FA Cup final.

"You work hard to try to play more, but I knew Joe is a very good keeper, the England number one. I took the risk because it was an opportunity to be at a top club.

"For a keeper it is difficult. Other players get to play for a few minutes, or in other positions, but it is not like that for a keeper.

"I didn't doubt I would play in the final because I feel I have done okay in these games. Now it's my chance to do it in the final."

To be fair, it will be impossible for him to progress if he stays with us and I can fully understand.

Foolishly naïve of him to spout this out now, days before Wembley, but I don't think there is any malice and for that reason I still think he deserves the right to pull on the shirt on Saturday.

It will be a shame if he does go in the summer, having seen him in the flesh in the semi final he is talented and deserves more than bench warming. It will be our loss, but good luck to him IF he does go.

Fair do's. Can't argue with any of that. His stock HAS risen since signing for us. He could be a number one for a different PL team now, whereas three years ago nobody knew who he was.

Give him the final he's earned and then let him go with our best wishes (for a good price, mind, say £2.5 million).

I agree with all of that. He's earned his place in the starting line-up on Saturday. He's played well whenever he's played this season, especially in the semi-final and he's not moaned at all about being second choice in his 2 years here. Even from the interview he's just given, he's clearly enjoyed his time with us but now wants to play first team football, and he's more than good enough to be doing so.

Yes, the timing of the comments isn't great but he's probably had a microphone put in front of him as he's playing this week, they've talked about the final and then was asked about his future.

If he does leave, then I'll wish him all the best for the future. I just hope we'd be able to get in a number 2 as good as him.

What part of this is ambiguous in his interview? "I have been waiting for my chance and now I am playing in the FA Cup final." So he obviously has already been told he's playing the Final ... and he's talking about post that ... no issues there.
