All players are not equal. They all don't have the same motivations. Neither do their agents. I was responding to his statement with a hypothetical. And Robinho was a perfect example of how we win if we are competing for players on money.

Whatever the speculation is over how they will do, who they will buy or sell, there surely can be no doubt that at this moment, that they are at their weakest for twenty or more years. And we should do everything within our power to capitalize on this as a club, to establish ourselves, in a competitive way.
I would hope that we have an aggressive summer transfer strategy, put all the speculation about Mancini to bed, move on and upwards.
Next season will be massive. we won't get all the credit if and when we win the league, as some of this will be reflected into Moyes failures and their instability.
However, God forbid, should they finish above us, we will never ever hear the last of it, so next year is a 'must win' for many reasons, and don't forget Chelsea will have something to say...The three M's in charge...

Agreed. His teams were always equal to more than the sum of their parts. Horrible human being but a fantastic manager. They can only go downhill with Moyes but I don't think they'll outright collapse as some are expecting them to.

Mancini is an all-seeing genius. He got the all important FA Cup win in his 1st full season. Then he wins the league in his second season.

Now for the real trick. In his third season he purposefully let the rags walk the league, knowing that it will motivate whiskeynose to retire, significantly weakening the rags. He also purposefully develops a horrible record against the man next in line to lead the rags in order to get the gollum in place (knowing all too well exactly how to beat gollum this whole time). Issue with FA Cup coverage is that Sky doesn't have rights for any games so they can't show highlights from games even in news while reporting so they traditionally don't cover it as much anyway ... and given Fergie leaving and Moyes as their new manager is big enough news for then to simply bury everything else ...

ESPN and ITV has the rights and they have done their previews etc already in the week. It's in their news segments every day and ESPN has a lineup of program's starting at 8am on Saturday nonstop all the way to the kickoff. (All already set to be recorded of course :)

So Sky can go to hell, BT Sport has already taken over ESPN and has today launched two new channels BT Sport 1 and 2 and in HD as well and they have announced it free of cost to existing BT Broadband customers ... good value even for those who don't get it free for the year as ESPN alone was £10 pm. And here on they have picked up more games than ESPN used to show and these include 18 first picks ... so fully expect some derbies to be taken away from Sky.

Hopefully they'll break Sky's monopoly further.

Sky could show highlights from other broadcasters if they kept the other lot's logo on it during the coverage, just like the Beeb and ITV do during the news with coverage from Sky - it's just that they wont show events that they don't cover themselves.
