The thing that's recently pissed me off with the rag media is that they count the community shield when listing Baconface's trophies yet say Mancini is going for a 3rd trophy in 3 years, completely disregarding the community shield win last August. Just sums up the press to me.
If Mancini goes I won't be too upset but would rather he stayed and we learnt from this seasons mistakes and carried out the improvements this coming season. If he is to be replaced then Pellegrini wouldn't be a bad choice, was never given a chance at Real Madrid where he was getting sacked as soon as he came in.

I'm not a Mancini fan and I've argued that we could do better. However, I'm not sure Pellegrini is.

If Mancini has decided to leave, we obviously need to replace him but I'm still not convinced about Pellegrini. But to sack him for someone who could be a complete flop is madness.

It's a new one every week. I suppose one day they'll get it right. Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it will stick. This report seems to be stronger. It would have to be - all previous reports of Bobby's departure became water off a ducks back.

The timing alone makes me doubt the truth.

I've just read the Guardian piece. They quote "reports from Spain" and "City, privately, denying any knowledge of such a deal". Talk about covering your arse!!

As for Pellagrini, I'm sure that he's an excellent manager, but at 59, is he the age to build the dynasty that is supposed to be part of our long-term plans?

If bobby has decided to go for whatever reasons, then I'm starting to come round to the idea of this guy a bit. If Isco is involved etc then I can see our team being quite awesome. Even without the addition of Cavani I can see some positives.

But its FA Cup day so lets just concentrate on that for now.

No, we can't concentrate on the final. It's time to start a thread on the next league game I think.

Anyone?

I agree. I can understand why Mancini would go, although he deserves another year in my opinion. However I sense that he has lost some of the dressing room with his managerial style, despite denials by some of the players. So I dont think its a results decision, more a morale issue. Serrano sacked Rijkaard at Barca when all seemed well because he started to lose the dressing room. Its the same at city I think.
Having said that Pellegrini is an odd choice. I expected someone like De Boer.
I trust the board though and nobody knows the reality. If or when Bobby goes the truth might come out.
Timing of all of this is bloody terrible.

Unless there has been a major failure this season (which is not the case) or there was a 'no-brainer' candidate available - (which there isn't) I cannot see how parting with Manini could even be contemplated.

Just listen to the level to which we fans show support for Mancini at Wembley today. I think that the owners would bear this in mind - they have shown such an attitude previously.

I will just work on the assumption that this is a typical rag biased media attempt to disrupt us ahead of the match.

I just watched the 10:00 headlines on SSN - 8 mins on Wigan all positive and the sort of thing you should expect - interviews with fans and with people at the hotel - 2 mins on CITY all to do with Mancini rumours - not even a word about preparations for the match - biased as fuck.

All this coming out everywhere a day before the Fa Cup final and folks are giving the media and anti City contingent what they want by speculating about it.

Mancini's name will be sung today without a doubt, like at most games. But the media will even turn that in to "fans say goodbye" bollox.

Damned if we do and Damned if we don't

No no no, this will be madness.roberto mancini should remain city manager, theonly ones who will benefit from him going will be the rags, we will have become the biggest idiots in football if we sack him, I will have no respect for our owners if this is true.

If Mancini leaves this summer it will be under his own steam - I don't think the owners will sack him
He may have had his head turned by Monaco (or even Real Madrid) - he made no secret about being pissed off with city's transfer policy last summer undermining his campaign to retain the title

Pellegrini wouldn't be my choice (which is klopp)

Does amaze me how a few stories can turn so fast. Anybody would think there was some sort of calculated plan on our big day.

I'm sticking to the happy threads from now on.
