Twitter says Mancini is sacked

Ronseal.

Not sure what I think after yesterday - might be cheaper than buying 7 new players if he has, in fact, fallen out with them all.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

Roberto Mancini is set to be sacked as Manchester City manager with the Italian's tenure almost definitely ending before the club's post-season tour to the United States.

With club pursuing Manuel Pellegrini, the Malaga coach, as his potential replacement Mancini cut a troubled figure following Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup final defeat to Wigan Athletic.

Then he railed at the club for not killing the stories regarding Pellegrini, an illustration of Mancini's brusque style that has not endeared him players or some members of staff.

This and other factors have caused City's Abu Dhabi executive to lose confidence in Mancini, who was handed a five-year contract last summer after leading the club to a first title in 44 years.

Mancini, though, has struggled to build on that success, with his team exiting the Champions League in the group stages, losing their league title to their Manchester neighbours United and on Saturday losing to Wigan in the FA Cup final.

This is getting beyond a joke, first all the shit leaking out on Friday and now it's dragging into Sunday, if they haven't got Pellegrini's signature in the dotted line then this is as unprofessional as when Hughes went & Cooke carried the can for that, who carries this can as it's a bloody shoddy way of working

I tell you what, the way this is being handled stinks. It's nearly as bad as the Hughes debacle.

Looking at NewsNow there is not one story confirming Mancini has been sacked but everyone of them speculating that he will be sacked this week.

If he goes, that's 3 manager's that have been treated unscrupulously by the club and for me, this is not what I want to see.

Sort yourself out Manchester City, you are making us look an absolute disgrace!

Never been overly impressed by Mancini, I have my doubts about going Foreign. Moyes is a good appointment for reds, not sure we will match that. Hope we spend big this summer.

What's circling on Twitter in equal amount is that Mancini has walked over his treatment and handling of this issue (or lack there of) by the club ...

So no one really knows right now but if Twitter is to be looked at then it's half and half ... some saying he's been sacked and some saying he has resigned himself and walked.

Parting company with the previous 2 managers was the right choice - we've had a cup and a league title since then, so lets not be too critical of the board

It wasn't anger at the defeat on Mancini's face yesterday it was sadness.

PS WTF is Pelligrini?

What's it got to do with counsellors? The way this has been handled has made us look like chumps again. We know how to shoot ourselves in the foot and once again there are negative stories out there while the Rags take up all the limelight.

Proves there are people behind the scenes ready to provide journos info at any moment if these stories are true.

It is and it isn't poor treatment. I am assuming Pellegrini is in high demand, and if this is truly the person City want, there was little choice but to get it done before anyone else did. He could easily take another job if he didn't want to wait. The fact that our representatives have been seen talking him is pretty hard to hide. So unless these things could be done via phone, there is really not much City can do to stop the rumours. I mean what looks worse, denying them and sacking him the next day? or say nothing? Clearly the later, as there is no way to sack him on the eve of the cup final. And giving him a vote of confidence is as bad as Mancini giving his word to Costel and starting Hart. No win situation.

Could they have waited? Maybe, but would Pellegrini wait?

A very strange situation all round.I heard 2 or 3 weeks ago that Mancini offered his resignation and had a job in Italy all but finalised (Roma was mentioned)
