No way a mutiny. Jeez teams lose matches we just didnt put away our chances. It could have all been so different if Robles had cut his toe nails and not stopped Tevez shot.

Wigan play like Barca at some points in all of their games normally the end product is sh*te. Just look at how many times they hit the target!!! once! although i am sick of us being done over from set peices or corners on that side been too many this season.

No conspiracy we just lost a football match!

You must be blind if you can't see that there is something wrong with the team. This team is a shadow of last season. That was no just a game but also a mirror of the entire season.

This. I'd feel cheated if I was a pie eater. They are good enough to outplay the champions twice in a matter of weeks and yet in all likelihood will get relegated. Sounds like they are the ones who don't give a shit to me.

This is precisely what I was thinking watching the game at Wembley. Wigan are playing as good as this and yet are fighting a desperate relegation battle.
Now either of two possibilities presents itself -

1. Wigan have a great set of players who all season have played like shit

or

2. City are now playing like shit.

I don't think the Wigan team have not tried all season under Martinez. He is too good a motivator.

What seems to have happened over the last few seasons though is that they amble along in the bottom 3 until the business end then string a remarkable run of results together when needed, and escape relegation. Is Martinez really that good a motivator then?

We always turn up against the scum. However this time we haven't turned up against loads of "smaller" teams. Soton, Qpr, Swansea, Everton. We didn't turn up against Wigan in the final.

Last season we simply stuffed majority of the teams in the 1st half of the season. 4-0, 3-0, 5-1, 6-1, 4-1, These were the regular score-lines against any team home and away in the early parts of last season. That was momentum enough to win the title.

Scums have been awful against all the big teams. They got a single point against spuds in 2 games. They got 3 against Chelsea by some dubious refereeing. They got 3 against us by a deflected shot. They got 6 against a poor Liverpool and yet the game at Anfield had a red card. And they only got 3 against Everton. And Madrid, the first quality team they face in the CL chuck them out. On the other hand, they simply dispatch the smaller teams. I don't know why but we often struggle in this regard. Our record against the bigger teams is better than them.

Blimey, there'll be people saying dracula's not the first bloke you'd like to meet in a forest next. Course a good number of the players are disaffected. Its been blindingly obvious for yonks. Course the team spirit is poor compared to a lot of lesser teams but also the rags. Thats because that is how Bert operates, distant dictatorship. The only worthwhile question is, does it work. Now we know the answer if we didn't already. When you add in a bloke who cant cope with Wigan's tactics it don't leave a lot. Good players have been getting us out of the shit in most games. Its when you come up against good players who are a team and who are well organised you are likely to suffer. See champions league. And domestically, ordinary players who are well organised and well motivated have been beating us for a long time. It wont change by buying better players, will it. So you have to remove the problem which is what we are belatedly doing.

Why was taggart so shit in 94/95 got the exact same results back then. I wish the knee jerkers had gotten their way back then. Would have saved us all 17 years of pain.

So shit?

Really?

The difference was a thriving youth system, a good style of play, FA Cups, European Cup Winners Cup's, a league title and a double.

When you consider your manager's position, you need to ask yourself a couple of questions. Firstly, what was the cause of the problem which caused the poor season outcome? If it was down to the players, was it a question of whether they were good enough, or was it a motivational/attitude issue?

If it was tactical, buck stops entirely with the manager. If its an issue with the players, the burden is shared by those who underperform and the manager who has failed to sort that problem out. If its both tactics and issues with the players' form and attitude, the manager is fucked all ends up and will be replaced. Only exception is if there is enough credit in the bank for the owner to "know" that it will come good next time round.

Back in the 90's, Ferguson had all that credit in the bank. mancini has now run out of credit

Why always the referencies to the drunken Munchen???? Its 2013 , business models have changed ffs.......

Anyone that uses that MUNCHEN as a fuckign reference should be banned.

Its a democracy here Carl. Not a dictatorship.

Theres a reason I refer to taggart hes been a massive pain in our side for decades. He had a disappointing season a few years ago so has mourinho yet they are both considered the top managers in the game.

Anyone who makes the Munich reference is a bit of a knob. We did lose Frank Swift on that fateful night plus a lot of kids.

Regardless of the "business model" perception, surely you would admit that replacing a manager with a lower win percentage than our current one is madness?

Do you think a manager whose only European trophy was the intertoto cup 9 years ago will do better than Mancini?

As a highly successful manager I'm sure that you look at a CV, you go off accomplishments rather than hunches right?

As you talk about the lack of emotion in smart business decisions please compare both CV's

Please give me your evaluation on both.

I like that. I'd morph it a bit to something like the players have probably not been allowed to have any input into the team shape and tactics. In other words the ideas have all come down from Bob ( see Dougs reports ).
While the manager has to decide, he can still include the players thinking along the way. Strikes me that doesn't happen at all with Bob and at some point there will be a consequence of that, especially with a team that he hasn't built up player by player himself.
This season the gap between Bob's ideas and the 'what am i doing' belief of the players widened considerably.

on another tack related to this anyone read Sid Lowe's analysis in the Grundian? Basically says that Tricky Burger liked Rijkaard's style of inclusion and won't like Mancini's opposite style..

Tricky comes in Mancini goes out - the club struggle to put any kind of spin on it to assuage the fans and the media.

Mancini is right about one thing at least - someone at the club responsible for communications is not up to the job.

Carl we all know that now the sozzled old cunt has retired he is going to be the benchmark for success so people using him in conjunction with Mancini's present predicament are right to imo.

Wenger has done exactly what the owners wanted him to do, stay in the Champions League(assuming they beat Wigan), make money to pay off the ground.
