What is the point of sacking someone with no future plans laid down? With Hughes, Mancini was already lined up so I hope it's the case now.

This ... absolutely!

It all depends on what's lined up and comes next ... if they have someone signed up and they introduce him ASAP at the end of season, who is fully involved in new signings then this could very well turn into a great move ... but if they haven't got anyone yet and take the whole summer being linked from one to another and find someone way later deep into the transfer window, then we'll have another fucked up window and it will be a case of one step forward and two steps back ...

It won't matter who the new manager is, he'll be a coach and the players bought for him to mould into a successful winning side.

We have sacked a manager who was failing at his job, that's all. Yer mincing fuckers.

Dranma Queens, have you heard yourself! I remember a few giving it large when we went onto win the fucking league!

Shame isn't it. Handled disgracefully and the worsed sacking I've ever seen.

I guess the club were just a bit too late, if that's the word. I'd never have guessed that there'd be so much commotion around a meeting with another teams manager!

As I said though ............... next.

something tells me that if they're going to pay Mancini £28m to sack him they have someone lined up and are ready to bring him in ASAP.
no chance they wait a month or months.

Would feel bad for him but he was talking to Monaco last season...
Thanks for the memories but ultimately wasn't the right man to take us forward from here.

Thank you for everything Bob. You tried your best but unfortunately it wasn't enough. You are now a rich man though, getting £30+ mil for compensation.

His compensation is a year's salary, by all (reliable) accounts.

I keep hearing about stuff going behind the scenes that will put a different slant on things. I'm going to see what comes out in the wash. At times Bob has not helped himself, slagging players off in the press, fighting with Mario on the training ground, slagging the backroom staff off and so on, add some shocking results into the mix I'm not surprised.

I don't post often here, but I just have to crawl out of the woodwork for this one. I find the sacking of Mancini an absolute disgrace.
People seem to forget where we were 5 years ago, and to come as far as we have under Erikkson, Hughes and then Mancini since we were bought over is a wonderful achievement. Mancini took the club that extra step and won our first silverware in decades, not only this but also masterminded the 6-1 destruction of the scum in the swamp and also enjoyed a repeat victory the following season...what other manager in the modern game can say that?
His persistant and stubborn fannying about with 3 at the back at the start of the season ended out European hopes, which was the catalyst that lost him the dressing room and derailed our season....but surely he should have been given the opportunity to learn from his mistakes and granted another season, I doubt he would have repeated such experiments at such high cost.
Alas, now we'll be resigned to employing another 'quick fix' manager who won't be given the time to plant his roots into the club. One step forward, two steps back.

Thank you Roberto.

Is the quote from the club not a joke? He's failed to achieve "all" targets, except for qualifying for Champions League - so he has achieved one target then - final nail in PR coffin get them out & someone in who can write a decent press release & handle the media properly

Football fans are very fickle people. If the new manager brings us success I'm sure there will be very few on here complaining about how the board have acted, how Mancini should've been given more time etc. I am a Manchester City supporter first and foremost and that will never change regardless of who is on the board, who the manager is or who is on the playing staff. City til I die!
