Victory Parade Ruined

Postby john@staustell » Tue May 14, 2013 7:10 am

The scene was all set. Sky had run a Scumfest all Monday and Tuesday was set to be wall to wall Scum throughout the world. Faced with that sickening prospect I was ready to get through a few DVD episodes of Game of Thrones instead of watching TV.

Then along came the nasty neighbours, sacked their manager in the middle of the night and pissed all over the worldwide victory parade coverage.

Even SSN faced the horrible dilemma of seeing their beloved RAGS' Parade displaced from the first 7 minutes of the show by City, albeit possibly on a negative slant.

But all publicity is good publicity.

Whether by accident or on purpose they done the same to us on the eve of our cup final...

Funny the timing surrounding all of these recent manchester club announcements. Is it coincedence or are we actually battling for the media limelight (granted it's at a possibly negative slant)?

Cant help feeling there was definitely some consideration given by City to the timing as Monday wore on.

I think the timing of the whole thing was awful, and totally unjustified as far as Mancini is concerned. According to the papers, the players are happy with his departure, but it didn't look like it in the Cup Final. They played like a team in a match where the result didn't matter. I sat through all the preamble on ITV most of which was about Wigan winning the match.
Call me paranoid if you like, but sometimes I think that we are moving towards football being choreographed in much the same way as world wrestling. After all wrestling still has a huge fan base.......
