Mancini Gone: Official Now

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Time will look kindly on Roberto's tenure and for the trophies he brought, and how he raised our level of expectancy I am truly thankful.

Apparently we are in "danger" of becoming another Chelsea. Well I fookin hope we are as I could live with 3 Prem titles, 4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups and a Champions League title in the next 10 years.

I don't think it was the right descion, but what is done is done.reading today that there were many rewsons for sacking him, but the fudemental one was the aparent deterioration of the relationship between him and a lot of our players, with as many as 6 or 7 established internationals wanting out.if that is true then I support city.thanks for the memories roberto mancini, in my eyes you are a city legend, but life goes on, and city comes first, I am sobbing in my cornflakes writing this, apologies for shit spelling on my tablet inspain

Good luck and thanks for everything Roberto.

Now onwards and upwards. Hopefully we find someone decent to take the charge and lead us to new heights. I fear that we have set The Project back and I fear Pellegrini will be nothing but a stop gap but I genuinely hope and pray I'm wrong.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Please do not remind me that we spent 27m on dzeko.

If it makes it better. The Dortmund starting 11 who beat Real Madrid cost 28 million ;)

I think that says a lot. We need a manager who can spot these young talents and get them in for a couple of million and let then turn in to world class players.

Fair enough.

In all seriousness I'd take Rafa. I know a lot of people wouldn't but I love his honesty and the fact he's won pretty much everything apart from the Prem.

I find him to be one of the most unlikable cunts in sport.

Also, his style is to stifle the opponents and his attitude is not too unlike the guy they just got rid of. Won't happen at all. Ancellotti would be my first choice I think. Jose second, even though there are things I don't like about him.

For me the only thing that could make this ok is if Mourinho gets the job. my second choice would be rafa based on a lack of alternatives and me not trusting Pellegrini with phase 3.

1.Ancelloti
2.Mourinho
3.Klopp

I'd have Klopp as number one, Mourinho as number two and Ancellotti as number three.

Those three would at least give Mancini sacking some sense. You could make a case for any of those three saying they might be improvement on Mancini. Some people are making desperate cases for Pellegrini now just because he is the target trying to explain it to themselves just as much as to me.

I hope you're not including me in that.

I know very little about him, I'm just not thick enough to think Soriano and co don't know everything about him.

Also, I'm not sure why anyone would want to desperately explain why they want a particular manager to you? It makes no sense. Actually, who said Pelligrini was their first choice? I missed that one I think? Names.

No, I'm not including you because you are one of the few who readily admit not knowing enough about him. I've read enough posts where people read his Wikipedia page and are now telling what an awesome manager he is.

All we know (I haven't checked the media today yet though) is that Kidd will be temporary caretaker.

Well i did'nt read his wiki page but i have done some online research and seen interviews from people on TV who think that Pellegrini is a fantastic coach so if Manchester City Football Club want to put him in charge that's fine by me and he will get my full support until he proves you right and MCFC wrong.

The new man was on the wish list of every team. Maybe 2nd choice at Bayern, but linked with all the contenders. We have a better coach and man manager coming in lets crack on.

One thing I will say. I'm looking forward to a bit of unity. Feels like an age since we had it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want some shitbag that has sleepovers and pj parties but no tactics.

But it would be nice to see a united team all pushing in the same direction.

Oh and attacking football. Please give us attacking football again! The first 3 months of last season was breathtaking.
