As time goes by, I'll still remember the excited texts from my dad about how good we looked away at Spurs; the look on my daughter's face when she thought we'd blown it against QPR and the look when we hadn't; I'll remember the feeling of beating them at Wembley and the tears of winning the FA Cup; I'll always remember the 1-6 and Balotelli's penalties.

In the same way that all I can remember of the 98/99 season is Dickov scoring. It's the great memories which linger longest and can still bring a tear. And you made plenty of those.

Thank you Mr Mancini , Saturday is now History but for the last three and Half years you have put a smile on my face and all other City fans. We got our pride back thanks to you, I for one will miss you but on we go. One thing for certain City will always be CITY, getting it wrong, getting it right but once the pain has gone always will be left with CITY and only CITY, THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE!!!!!

Thanks Bobby for being in charge when we won the league yes no body else has managed it in my lifetime but you have had the most resources.

Thanks sheikh Mansour for not being to sentimental and getting rid of a man that has £200 million worth of talent playing worse than Wigan.

Absolutely spot on.
Even people who thought change was needed have had decency to pay their respect for a guy who will without a question be part of the City folklore (in positive way) forever. How many people here can say that from many managers in their lifetime? Even for old timers there are maybe handfull.

It's going to be tough explaining to my 8yr old lad that you have gone, having delivered so much success in such a short time & ridding us of a few demons like that banner at the swamp.

I genuinely thought our days of managerial revolving doors was behind us.

One can only hope that the much needed players we are all hoping for are already in the bag, or is it going to be another summer of "look at what you could have had"?

Dear Roberto, so it's been confirmed.

Like taxes and death all football managers eventually leave their post, via the front or back door its still the same. You gave many older City fans the chance to relive their youth and good times from the 60's/70's and many more younger fans the chance to witness the end result of winning something!

But as I've said elsewhere fans are the only constant in a football club, through thick and thin and thinner for most, you provided many memories and for me this clip still encapsulates everything. I don't know of any City fan who doesn't well up watching this and I thank you for probably my greatest day as a City fan, only a day in 1999 when you were playing for Lazio comes close.

I'll echo those sentiments. The memory of Gary Owen , my brother and i jumping up and down at Wembley, to Oasis in the semi against the rags., The seats collapsing at the 6-1 demolition derby. Being able to turn around , on my own in a pub full of Rags in Zürich ( i was the only City fan that couldn't get back) and give them all a two handed, two finger salute as Kun's stunner hit the back of the net. These memories are forever , indelibly stamped on my mind.

I've generally wanted him gone, but I'm not celebrating now. I'm worried it was the wrong decision and only time will tell.

If he'd only had a bit more humanity about him & been a bit more flexible, he could have been at City for ten years.

Gave us some fantastic memories though & a very likeable bloke in public (so long as you don't actually get to know him!)

If he ever learns that he's not perfect, he could become the best around.

I came online to write pretty much this.

I am gutted that Roberto has gone, especially since United are in the transition they are in, I feel we needed stabilty more than ever right now.
