One thing I will say. I'm looking forward to a bit of unity. Feels like an age since we had it.

But it would be nice to see a united team all pushing in the same direction.

Oh and attacking football. Please give us attacking football again! The first 3 months of last season was breathtaking.

Problem is teams figured us out and we had no plan B. We were unable to up the pace and tempo and play like we did in the first 3 months.
Let's hope Pellegrini does.

I am so glad and reliefed that at least owners (unlike many fans here) saw the situation clearly and acted accordingly.

City now has a really good chance to see better days. Not that the days weren't bright, but with so much talent in our squad, you have to expect and get more out of it.

Not playing Dzeko and being a bad manager in general at the same time was only coincidental for Mancini.

If the new manager decides to play without Dzeko, then I expect justifiable reason behind it. Previous manager didnt make much sense for it.
You are neglecting wings, crosses, direct style of play - OK. But let's see, what do we get for it.

The thing is, the way I see it - our play making is boring. We are far too predictable. Im not saying Dzeko is the worlds greatest player, but - when you use him properly, like you can, like Mancini never did, he can make things happen for you.

I think his autocratic style was his principal undoing. OK, managers need to be strong and be themsleves, but he was too distant, too autocratic, I think. At least I get that impression. The players, however well paid and talented, need more than that. Was he arrogant? Maybe.

However, Pellegrini does not fill me with anything other than a sense of WTF?

i had forgotten about Ancelotti,he is my second choice. I dont think we would get klopp thats why i hadnt considered him. If this was always going to happen we should of moved for Pep early in the year.

We could get Klopp, he's riding the wave at the moment. He was dumped out of Mainz some years back and when Dortmund almost went broke, he seemed the right type to steady the ship. He has indeed exceeded all expectations.

If we're not going for Jose, even if i don't want him, Juergen would be a great alternative

AND they brought in Jose which in football terms means guaranteed success (and booring football). IF we were to bring in Jose I would say "yeah, fair enough, they are looking to go down that route" but Pellegrini is no guaranteed match never mind improvement on Mancini.

So the rags have a new manager. With the old manager in the background so normal service will be under way coupled with more clout with the fa now that gill is taking compete control.

Chelsea are likely to get mourinho and with his name pretty much any player they feel like signing.

We have a new reputation as a bunch of fucking bottle jobs with owners/boardroom who want a puppet for a manager who is happy to be a figurehead and have no control over anything but will be blamed and dropped in the event that we don't win a trophy EVERY season.

You won't find me disagreeing with you on that point. I don't want the water boy or Jose. However , if either if them come , so be it.

The Chairman drew a line yesteday, he wants immediate success next season. Jose can deliver this , i really dont think Pellegrini could.

I've read some posts today almost belittleing Roberto . His achievements at City were fantastic given the short amount of time he had to firstly get the defense right, secondly slay the dragon that is the rags and thirdly win the cup then the league. With all the baggage we come with and a media crew dead set against him

Jose has excellent English, he will slay any reporter that goes after him like they hounded Roberto.

The more i think about it , we should go for Klopp he'd love to nail the rags and the Bartzis .

I don't think it was the right descion, but what is done is done.reading today that there were many rewsons for sacking him, but the fudemental one was the aparent deterioration of the relationship between him and a lot of our players, with as many as 6 or 7 established internationals wanting out.if that is true then I support city.thanks for the memories roberto mancini, in my eyes you are a city legend, but life goes on, and city comes first, I am sobbing in my cornflakes writing this, apologies for shit spelling on my tablet inspain

With regret Manchester City announce that David Platt has this afternoon left his role as Assistant Manager at the Club.

David was offered the opportunity to continue his work with us but has declined the invitation. He has decided to leave his role with his close friend Roberto Mancini.

David has made a significant contribution to the Club’s success since joining in 2010 and we wish him well with his career wherever that now takes him.
