Exactly. And it was Hughes who first pushed him out.

A non-event. Totally.

yeah yeah yeah.
The point was that he got to boot from the Club now. Very true that he hasn't had meaningfull role within club since Hughes squeezed him out.

I don't think the guy ever got the praise he deserved. I remember talking with Kippax years ago about our financial situation at the time and what SWP sale really meant and I'm not sure many people understand how close we were (again) then. Not that any of that matters now of course. But find myself often thinking how important it is to remember the past now that we truly ARE massive.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think he was given respect with a nice cushy job in the middle east for a bit.

The owners/board haven't done too bad so far - right now they've identified a problem with the manager and rectified it. It's not that long since Musampa, Bianchi and Corradi were our greatest hope. They obviously identified that Jim wasn't the man to take us forward. That's OK by me, it's the big boys' world.

The alternative is 'we'll change everything else at the club but we'll leave that nice old fella Jim in charge of all the Academy. Even though we've identified he's not up to it we'll leave him there because of history and respect'!

Btw didn't SWP come to us at 16 signed by KK? Or Royle? And Richards was poached from Oldham. Academies are about 7 years-old onward.

That's not the point though now is it? He was just about the only functioning part of the team when Sheik took over. Widely recognized breeder of players with shoe string budget and scouting network that consisted of some Frannie Lee's old mates in local. He genuinely had world class potential in his own line of duty.

No need to disrespect him by associating him with fucking Musampa's and Corradi's.
