Wigan relegated.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Wigan go to show how the media can elevate a small team to Premier League standards.

Hull will take their place in the order of things. Nothing will change.

Can't see them coming back in a hurry. I don't buy into the 'Martinez is a great manager theory'.

Sorry to see them relegated. If Martinez goes also I can see the whole thing unravelling very quickly.

Sad and undeserved relegation for Wigan.

Don't wish them any great ill but won't miss that fuclin rent-a-quote chairman. Thankfully, like that buffoon Holloway who also loves a microphone, he can fade into the background. For the continued blessed relief I hope Watford win the play-off final.

How on earth did we manage to not score against that team, nor look much like scoring, on a big pitch like wembley? Our front 6 should hang their bloody heads in shame.

So one match against us in the final proves that they can play wonderful football, but 37 matches in the premier league resulting in relegation is an unfortunate accident? They got what they deserved and have been living on borrowed time for a while in the league.

Front six? Goodness me.

@ Sister, I stared at the telly last night wondering exactly the same thing.

Our midfield and forwards Piccs, who were there to win the game for us. Back 4 and keeper are exempted, though I acknowledge Clichy played like dogshit too.

I was gutted for them until reading the post that highlighted their chairman grabbing the spotlight at any time possible and the yes vote..

I hope they go down again! small inbred rugby town

I'm not fussed either way about them getting relegated, I can't really feel 'gutted' for another team. I'm still coming to terms with us not being down there around March time tbh.

They'll sell a few players - as always, and have the parachute payment to give them a decent war chest. Different expectations and standards though.

They lost Diame and Rodallega this season because they ran out of contract. So that's their own fault.

The only decent players they've ever sold as far as I can remember is Valencia and NZogbia. So I'm not buying that one mate.

I've never felt so ashamed of being a Blue as I was on Saturday. For a team wearing the sacred Sky Blue to perform so abjectly was horrendous. Did Bobby get his tactics for the match completely wrong? I thought "remind me which team has the costly players and lots of money behind them? Which team won the league last season?" Someone who didn't know wouldn't have guessed it was City.

But - if the shot from Tevez, that their keeper kept out with a flick of his foot, had gone in, I wonder how different the game would have been.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, it's just possible that you haven't really grasped the gravity of the situation.
