After reading Tricky's comments about Guardiola, I am certain he would want him at City & Guardiola said even after he signed for Bayern, that he intends to come to the Prem. This 2 year business, if true, could be designed to give a potential window of opportunity which wasn't there earlier this season, for Guardiola to come here.

If they trust him, they may still go for him whatever.
Of course, if Pellegrini is a huge success then it would make it very difficult for them, but I recon they will be thinking about it.
