I can't see him paying the 4m when he's already said he would stay if it was not the situation Malaga are in.

If they are waving the release clause, it will be to reduce the wage bill or out of courtesy for what he has done for the club.

Paul breen-turner who is a Spanish correspondent cannot praise Pellegrini enough and thinks the uk press are not knowledgeable enough.

I've been watching / listening to Hunter for about 10 years ago and he is someone who I have a tremendous respect for. I do not think I have ever heard him sound that pissed off.

Pretty much my feelings as well, did not want a change but it has happened. The only alternative candidate would ensure a circus comes with him and would fall out with the off pitch team quicker than Mancini did. He seems the logical and best choice.

From the bits I've read or heard from people who've done more than checked Wikipedia, they all think he's a great coach. His lack of a trophy, even a Copa del Rey, does concern me, but wherever he goes, I think someone will get a great coach.

My initial thoughts on hearing we were ditching Mancini for this guy were WTF. But on swatting-up on him I have to say I can see more clearly that the club is heading in a direction that I am pleased to follow (like I have a choice, anyhow).

And thats the intelligent thing to do mate , read up on him and see quotes from players and the like , Pellegrini is held in high esteem.

I still think he is a poor gamble because of his age and lack of trophies on the major stage. If a manager is unproven I want to see an upside in terms of potential development and longevity in the post. That said, I have read enough to make me hopeful he can do a decent job - I am mildly underwhelmed rather than vehemently against.

Not taking a shot at you, but what is the issue with age? Depending on when his birthday is, he will either be 59 or 60...SAF went until he was 71 and he probably could've done another season....
