This. His acts-as-if-he's-been-kicked/deserves-a-good-kicking ratio is off the scale in favour of deserving a good kicking.

And if he does that in the Spanish league where it's not as physical, you can only imagine how frustrating he would be here in England.

No thanks.

Can't see it being him mate as he fucked off from notlob to Wigwam for being permanent understudy to Jaaskelainen and as decent a keeper as he is, he is prone to spectacular cock-ups. Would prefer the previously mentioned McCarthy from Reading as I have a feeling that the number two keeper will be getting more game time next season.

Why?
Personally I'm COMPLETELY opposed to changing keepers. I think you should have one number one keeper who plays always and every game.

I agree with you in the main but Joe has looked slightly shaky this season and perhaps a bit of competition for the No.1 spot might do him a bit of good.

Best number 2 for Joe would be to bring Shay Given back. No 2 at villa so offer him No2 and ask him to work with the young keepers to as assistant gk coach. He's local seems great around the club and if joe gets injured he's a fantastic keeper

Looks like Jesus Navas is a real possibility:

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/st ... MP=OTC-RSS

Jesus Navas has suggested he will leave Sevilla this season and that it would be a "dream" to play under presumed new Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini.

The Sevilla winger has been heavily linked in Spain with a move to team up with Pellegrini at Eastlands, given his current club's financial problems and City sporting director Txiki Begiristain's plans to implement a new footballing style at the club.

The World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 winner, 27, told Spanish TV channel La Sexta that the idea of moving to one of Europe's biggest clubs was exciting.

"You can be excited when you are there and you dream, but we are going to wait until the season ends and for summer to come to see what happens," Navas said. "We would have to see if both clubs could come to an agreement."

The idea of working under Pellegrini was also very appealing, Navas said.

"Pellegrini is a coach who has given a lot in every place he has been, with very nice football," he said. "He looks like a great person."

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has admitted regularly in recent months that the club's perilous financial situation meant leading players could be sold in the summer. Navas, who came through the ranks at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan and has made over 400 appearances in 10 seasons at the club, said he was not unhappy in Sevilla but did want to be challenging for titles.

"I am ready for everything," Navas said. "You want to keep growing and fighting for trophies when you are used to these nice things, but I am happy here."

No guarantees with this bloke, but he would give us pace & width in the squad.

If we do sign him & Isco, we must surely be planning on at least one aerial CF at the club, It would be madness to rely purely on shortarses when we have players who could go wide, so I wonder if Dzeko will stay after all ?

Cavani/Falcao seem way too expensive to be real options.

I think Falcao just ruled himself out of a move this summer and Cavani is the latest in a long line of Mido's IMO.

Dzeko, given the right service could well be the £27M player we thought we'd signed, but in this league with the pace it's played at, I think he has to accept the fact he isn't a ball-at-the-feet style centreforward.

If we were REALLY smart, I'd like us to try and sign Benzema. He is as close to RVP as you'll get for pure striker's instinct, has height and strength and plays with his back to goal better than just about anyone.

Not a fan of Benzema.

Dzeko has all the attributes needed apart from application imo.

But if we are signing a striker, why don't we get the bloke who will replace Falcao & Cavani in the Bluemoon fap list rather than spunking £50 mil on either of them ?

He's out there somewhere right now waiting to be signed by Athletico or similar.

cavani has all the attributes we need: skill on the ball, pace, aerial ability, finishing and work rate. with FFP in the picture, i don't see anyone paying 50MM for anyone anymore; that is the daily mail figure, but the real figure will be much less imo. get him in.

The guy who replaces the guy who replaced Aguero?

Maybe we should just follow Atletico's scouts around and see who they're looking at. But they did pay quite a sum for Falcao IIRC.

And who the fuck are ATHLETICO?

Egg.

They did shell out for him. All the Agüero money. And he didn't require much scouting, either; he was absolutely banging them in about 350 miles away in Oporto.

They've had Torres, a local boy; Foreskin, a veteran; and Falcao, who was scoring for fun across the border. Their only real find is Kun.
