Ratings vrs Chelsea

Given-9-when called upon, minus the odd cross, quality.
Richards-8-played really well, defensively and offensively until injury.
Toure-8-partnership with Lesscott is getting better by the game, looks good.
Lesscott-8-again with Toure, partnership is improving.
Bridge-8-defensively, doesn't look the business, but when he is on the ball and passes it on the floor, looks good, definatly a wing back rather the a left back.
Swp-9-whenever we gave it Shauney he made something happen, none stop as usual again.
Barry-7-getting back well, good distribution, concentration needs attention other then that, good.
De Jong-10-ran himself to the floor, deserves his place over Ireland by a landslide, motm.
Robinho-6-city worst player, not that he was poor, but doesn't get involved as much as he should, hopefully will improve, i won't hold my hopes up though.
Ade-8-lathergicle to say the least but when he gets involved, he gets involved, worked for the team alot more tonight.
Tevez-9-on a par with Shauney tonight, unlucky not to get motm, great vision, excelent pace andf awareness.
Nedum-6-not a right back, simple as that, ows shaymous a few beers after that 1.
Kompany, i can see him getting in the team more often when he is fully fit, top player, needs match practice.

Hughes-9-top tactics, deserves the praise he is getting obviously all players are behind him.

I'd agree with most of them except Gareth and Robson who both are deserving of an 8 in my book.
Some of Robsons passing was perfect today.

I'd agree with that. Fair play to Robbie. It wasn't a flair game but he did his best to get stuck in and tracked back all day!

10 for all of 'em! Fantastic team performance!

Just getting home from the match, a bit pissed and I've not seen the highlights yet so I'm going off what I only got to see once in the heat of the moment so this might be a bit inaccurate.

Given 9- World class is a term bandied about without a second thought these days but with Shay, it's the only fitting description. Phenomenal reaction saves early on that very unfortunately went in, then to step up and save us with minutes to go from the spot. He's just an amazing goalkeeper. Signing of the century.

Richards 8- Outstanding until he got injured. He was an absolute rock at the back, monstrous aerially, strong in the tackle and looked threatening going forward for a change. Unfortunate that he had to come off but full credit for his efforts until that point. Keep plugging away lad.

Toure 8- Far, far better in possession than on Wednesday, more aware of the players around him and dealt exceptionally well with Anelka, who's a real handful. Some superb tackling and generally good in the air, except for one lapse late on.

Lescott 9- A near perfect performance I thought. Gobbled up absolutely everything in the air, outmuscled Drogba (now that's a fucking task) and essentially made their forwards look average. His recovery tackles were spot on, he was confident on the ball. What a turnaround these last few weeks from Lescott.

Bridge 7- Like Micah, he was doing well until he got crippled. Overlapped very well and built up a decent understanding with Robinho. Defensively pretty good, though one aspect that still needs to improve is his positional sense when coming back from a counter attack.

de Jong 10- That was what I'd call a PERFECT, flawless performance. So rare to see it in the modern game but he was absolutely outstanding. Inch perfect tackle after inch perfect tackle after inch perfect tackle. Confident and forward thinking on the ball. Positionally so, so intelligent. Didn't give them an inch on most occasions and invited them into cul-de-sacs on others. I said in the match preview that it was cruical for us to nullify the threat posed by Lampard, Essien and Ballack and Nige played a huge part in doing that.

Barry 8- A much better performance than in recent months from Barry. He broke up play very well, looked comfortable in possession and delivered his set pieces well. Fitted in at left back seamlessly when Bridge got injured. More of the same please Gaz.

SWP 7- Not a vintage performance but he worked exceptionally hard, kept driving at Cole and found a way through on occasions. Shaunie is often overlooked as one of our crucial players- but he is. He gives so much to this team and I think he's been great this season so far, barring the odd poor performance.

Robinho 6- Our poorest player on the afternoon. He tracked back a little better than previously but still looked methodical and in a world of his own at times. I sit very near the touchline and noticed Bowen and the other coaches screaming at him to get back into position when we were defending. He's an exceptionally good passer and does create chances from nothing, but he just doesn't work hard enough or with any consistency.

Tevez 8- Fantastic stuff, and I feel guilty now for advocating using him as a substitute. He ran himself into the ground and showed some moments of real quality. Pressed and chased and harried them all evening, and always wanted the ball. There's also the slight matter that he's scored the winning goal against Chelsea!

Adebayor 7- A little lethargic at times but mostly impressive. He chased their men more regularly than usual and tried to get us going on the counter with quick darts down the channels. He's so much more than a target man and has many qualities. I think he'll get better and better with time and the development of a relationship with Tevez. Good finish too, you have to be there as they say.

Onuoha 6- I've not seen the penalty decision because they're not allowed show it on the screens so won't comment on whether it was clumsy or not, but he was decent, if unspectacular, when he came on. Some good no-nonsense clearances.

Kompany 7- Broke play up very well in midfield and helped de Jong in nullifying their attacking threat when Barry moved to left back. Would like to see him start a couple of games in the near future, think he's an impressive player with a lot to offer us.

Zabaleta 8- Only on for a few minutes but it was typical Zabs, grit, determination and no fucking messing- love the little nutter.
