That doesn't mean that the players sign. It has been the same every summer but sometimes our targets signed. Some players just sign, others play silly buggers or their agents want a bung or they fancy going somewhere else, like Alexis Sanches. But on that occasion we signed Aguero instead.

The strange thing last summer was that we were originally targeting forwards, then suddenly signed centre mids & defenders rather than any alternative forwards other than Sinclair. We will have had a whole shitload of attacking players scouted & contacted.

No idea why the priorities changed.

I don't think we'll see any players til Pellegrini arrives whatever, even if we have signed them already.

I don't think we have signed anyone yet. The club are shit at keeping things quiet and if we had anything done it would be all over the papers and sky about how many billions this takes us up to and how high our wage bill is, FFP and so on and so forth.

I thought they were pretty good at keeping the take over quiet.

And Silva. And Toure. Obviously, you hear about pretty much every big deal in the transfer window before it is signed, but when I heard about the above three things it was only days/hours before confirmation.

Saying that, I do get your point. You'd think in this day and age and with us being the richest club in the world, the people involved would be super secretive. Then again, maybe the leaks are intentional when one club wants to force the final stages.

Manchester City are interested in bringing Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo to the Premier League, according to the player’s agent.

Jose Rodrigo Baster has revealed that another offer has come in for the 29-year-old, and whilst he wasn’t willing to give the name of the interested party, he was happy to confirm that the Citizens have been pursuing the player.

"I don't want to give the name but I can speak about the offer we have received from England. Manchester City are interested in Melo, the club have made no secret of this and I am free to inform you about this latest development,” said Baster, according to Turkish-Football.com.

"I love Galatasaray fans, Fatih Terim and the team but the board did the same thing last season. Also they had a buy-out clause agreement with Juventus until 30 April 2013.

"I don't want to be disrespectful but I can't understand what's going on and am quite upset about the situation."

Napoli, Sao Paulo and Borussia Dortmund are also credited with an interest in the player, who has spent two seasons on loan at Galatasaray but has not signed for the club permanently.

Gala hoped to land the former Flamengo starlet for a fee in the region of €4million, but Juventus are hoping for a fee closer to €6million for the player.

Manchester City have endured mixed fortunes with Brazilian players at the Etihad Stadium in the past, with Robinho, Jo and Elano all flattering to deceive after bright starts to their respective careers at the club.

However, Melo is not a flare player but a hard-working defensive midfielder, and could provide a new manager with plenty to work with if he were to join the Premier League runners-up this summer.

Really? Melo? I would rather have Joey Barton.

To me the above reads that 1 club are interested in my player and I have assured them I will not divulge who it is as it will scupper the deal, what I will do though, is make up a ficticious story that the richest club in the world are interested in him to drive his price up so I get a bigger cut.

Melo to City? Really disgusted if this twat would come at our club, he was completely atrocious during his Juve period in the pitch and outside!

He isn't the type and quality of player we are after surely.

I only know bits about him through watching the champions league, so my knowledge on the player is minute, so if I've missed something, I apologise.

It will look a whole lot worse very very quickly if Pelligrini decides not to come to Manchester . 4-4-3 is our new system according to the two suits from Spain ........ and we havent even got a fucking manager ?

Best philosophy in football is to play without a goalie, curbs the risky passes and messing around at the back !

Fly Goalie; jumpers for goalposts. I like this game!

If you were a player short, we used to play spider goalie - one closest to the goal was the goalkeeper.

I know, I know. Getting bloody irritated reading about all the activity and it doesn't include us beyond speculation. The rags sorted their manager before the season ended ffs, and we haven't confirmed anything.

I don't think we need a load spending, just a few to improve the overall squad, plus sort out some contracts, mainly Tevez.

Spider goalie, blasphemy I say! It's 'Fly' goalie man, 'Fly' goalie!
