Potential replacement for Tevez

Postby bobby brows » Fri May 31, 2013 1:13 pm

Don't want to see him go and I'd rather see him leave on a free then for money this season but here is the scenario.

Tevez is sold for £25m to Juventus. Taking his wages oout of the accounts of his reported £250,000 p/w wages (£12m per annum) the owners charge you to sign a replacement using just the £37m raised from the sale of Tevez. Who do you bring in?

£10-15 million at best.

Honestly I'd like to see us give Guidetti a go if Tevez leaves.

Buy Cavani, sell Dzeko. Run with a foward line of Aguero, Cavani, Guidetti and one other, perhaps Muriel?

£250k a week and he scored just twice away from home all season in all comps. Well worth it.

£25 million if he had 3 years left. Can't see us getting more than 10 for a player in his last twelve months. Ideally, keep him. He's just the sort of striker Pellegrini likes to play. If he went, and Edin goes, we'd be down to just Sergio. I wanted Falcao, but he's gone to Monaco, so Cavani, Benteke and another (El Shaarawy?) to take us back up to four. What's happening with Guidetti? What are his chances thought to be under Pellegrini?

Neither will be sold for anything close to as petty at £37m

Then FFP ain't happening is it?

Whole point was supposedly to drive transfer fees down so owners could move to a profitable model.

So with FFP still here, 40, 50m transfers should be a thing of te past. Where it all falls down is that as soon as one club pays it, everyone else will shit it and think they are falling behind, and before you know it 7 or 8 clubs this summer could have spent £100m and blown ffp out if he water

What then for uefa?

Right so are there no strikers in the world in the £35m range that are fit to wear the shirt?

Was at least hoping for a Benteke or a Benzema.

Can't believe 8 posts in no one had has mention Mido, Alfonso Alves or Shrek!

Why would Nasri and RVP be worth £25m each and Tevez worth £10m?

I don't think there's many if any players who can actually 'replace' Tevez. He's so individual and unique in what he offers. If we get someone else we need to change our style of play a lot in my opinion.

If we do have to sell him, any money should go towards a bid for Bale.

Suarez is the closest I've seen, but has a tendency to be a cunt on the pitch quite a lot. Something Tevez rarely does.

I hope we either sign him up for another year or keep him for the last year. The money isn't worth a wank to us compared to the loss, especially if we're letting him go for £10m ffs

Exactly my thoughts. A season of Tevez is far more valuable then 15 million.
I've still never seen a city player carry a team like he has over the last few years time and time again. He brings out the best in the players around him too.

Again if we let him go it's a big loss.

I wouldn't mind signing that lukaku or however you spell it. Looks strong and could develop into a really good forward

Do you think he'll turn out better than Falcao?

There is Hulk who has some similar attributes and has a thunderous shot.

But as most have said, Tevez is quite unique and if or when he leaves, that's a big hole to fill.

Is guidetti still alive?

Seriously, is he anywhere near being available for the new season? Not even on the bench for any of the dead rubber games

The attribute of standing upright appears to be a challenge for Hulk however.

I agree with whoever said in a thread a few days back, that we should be trying to find out who Atletico are trying to sign to replace Falcao - they really have had the midas touch this last decade.

Forlan, Torres, Aguero, Falcao - not a bad run for a team generally in mid table throughout that period.
