So if he's open to it then he's probably overcome his anxiety, yes?

maybe he has overcome his anxiety ... it does look like he's open to the thought of going abroad, should be a good sign.

AS yesterday (copied by Marca today) insists that City reps were in Seville this week negotiating with Del Nido face to face and that this is a done deal. About €30M.

http://www.marca.com/2013/06/02/futbol/ ... 33150.html

Cant be arsed to translate them but that is the gist of it.

Must say I am surprised by this for a fella that gets homesick in Madrid!

According to wikipedia........

'On May 31, 2013, it was announced that Navas had agreed personal terms with Premier League club Manchester City[4]'.

It also states that a transfer was agreed withChelsea in 2006 but fell through as the player thought he may be homesick...

Manchester City Reach Personal Terms with Jesus Navas

Let the “Silly Season” begin. Manchester City has reportedly agreed to a personal contract agreement with Sevilla FC star Jesus Navas. The deal is said to be four or five years, and is a sign of City’s intent in this transfer window.

City, who lacked urgency in last summer’s market, has made their preemptive strike in order to regain the Premier League title and improve in their European performances of the past two years.

Navas, 27, is one of the best wing players in the world and has been with Sevilla his entire career. He’s experienced issues with homesickness that has kept him from accepting a move to a bigger club. However, Navas has been saying over the past month that he’s ready for new experiences and to chase trophies.

Should City close this deal once the transfer window opens, it will be a great move for the club. With arguably the most talented squad in England, the signing of Navas will add an entirely new dimension to the way City can attack when teams decide to sit back and defend, waiting for a counter-attack. Navas is deployed on the right wing the majority of time, a role that City desperately needed to address this offseason.

This move also adds credibility to the claims of Manuel Pellegrini agreeing to a verbal agreement with City, as Navas was always keen to work with the Chilean coach. Navas’ current club, Sevilla, is in the midst of major financial troubles and would certainly find it hard to resist a big bid from City that is reported to be around £25 million.

Doubt it will be 25 million but if we have it wrapped up then I assume we will be looking for someone else on the left aswell and not relying on Sinclair.

I know that Sinclair hasn't been a successful or exciting signing ... but i hope he's given a chance. He's a young player that has shown some talent previously, and that's the kind of player I would like to have in supporting roles for our team. If he's really not good enough, then fair do's, we'll have to move him on ... but he has not had any chance whatsoever. We spent money on him, let's have him prove what he can or can't do.

http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topi ... -deal-then

Soon enough we'll have typed Txiki Begiristain often enough without having to check it's correct repeatedly, because he's being brought into more and more transfers stories as he seemingly takes charge of Manchester City's spending this summer.

With the pesky Italian of Roberto Mancini out of the way, Txiki Begiristain is able to put his Barcelona style plan into action and it appears clear it will be him and his team picking out new players rather than any incoming coach.

It's a longer term view from Manchester City and and the idea is that the club develop a philosophy which works regardless of which head coach they have at the time. The club don't want everything to change with each managerial swap. Chelsea had been trying to implement something similar but the return of power greedy Jose Mourinho could put something of an end to that.

Back to Txiki Begiristain, he was photographed (that's him sat alone) at Seville's San Pablo airport on Friday. On Thursday, along with his sidekick Ferran Soriano, he'd been at Sevilla football club to thrash out a deal for Jesus Navas. Diario de Sevilla say that the Manchester City men had wanted to get the deal sorted out face to face after starting negotiations from Manchester. The newspaper go as far as claiming the men went there to 'close the deal', they reckon Manchester City will pay a whopping €30m for the 27 year old Spain international. That sounds a lot but it's €5m less than his current buy-out clause.

The newspaper also claim that Denis Suarez, a promising youngster at Manchestyer City, could be included in the transfer.

When Txiki Begiristain returned to the airport, and was photographed by what appears to be an enterprising journalist, he wasn't returning to Manchester, or back to England via the flight hub of Madrid. He was getting a flight to Barcelona, and given that he's chasing transfers constantly at the moment, that must bring more intrigue for Manchester City fans.

He just had a rib removed and probably wont be available for at least the first few months of the season at least. 3 month recovery at least I believe.

Keep up please.

What does that have to do with him being given a chance? Of course, I'm assuming he makes a full recovery and is able to play again without any complications. He obviously won't be sold while injured, so let's see what he can do eh?
