Jesus Navas to tickle our sidelines

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

So it seems this deal is all agreed, AS reported last night that the only thing missing is the player's signature.

I'm hoping this has been discussed as a potential signing with Pellegrini. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the continental system of dumping players on a coach and saying get on with it.

Isn't it more like dumping the manager on the players and saying "play for him"?

I'm thinking of that horrible coach at Seville who took over after Juande Ramos split. Now that was definitely a case of dumping a manager on the players.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I hadn't seen these quotes before but if he said that, then I guess this is only a matter of time.

Navas signs for Manchester City

Jesus Navas is already a City player. It's not yet official but it's a only question of time before both clubs confirm because the deal is closed, as reported by Radio Marca Sevilla. The deal will be for 25M euros plus add-ons.

The player will get 2.5M euros net pa, in a five year deal.

This economic boost affects the future of Negredo. His departure looked certain but now, with money, Del Nido feels he can retain the 'vallecano' who has scored 25 goals in La Liga and 31 in total.

makes keeping Dzeko more viable. We are dealing with a manager that got RSC scoring after all. Besides, Cavani is gonna cost something like 60m, and we'll need someone who isn't a midget at some point in the season (no matter how skilled of a midget they might be).

will be interesting to be playing with a skillful winger,

If we are going to play with wingers we NEED someone on the left as well. Otherwise it won't work and the team won't be balanced. Unless we're going to do a Stuart Pearce and have someone like Samaras or Sibierski on the left. That worked well..

After seeing on twitter that graham hunter had all but confirmed Navas signing, i thought i'd have a look on the seville forums and see how they view the transfer.

There i stumbled across this;

City always sign someone on my birthday, they never disappoint.

A little Navas fact that just popped up on my twitter;

71 - Jesus Navas created the most chances from open play in La Liga during 2012-13. Crafty.

Can never hurt to have a bit more creative guile imo.

i like what i've seen from him in la liga and at the euros. however, i am a bit surpised at his low numbers for 2012/2013: 54 app (club & country), 2 goals, 9 assists.

Now reported as pretty much done by Sid Lowe in the Guardian.

I'd say that he is about to be announced
