Doesn't look as impressive as Samaras though, and looks less like Jesus. All bad signs.

That last goal's a cracker, and he seems to be able to hold off defenders/avoid being tackled.

He isn't very Christ like. More like the Jesus in Big Lebowski.

But isn't that almost always the problem with Spanish defenders though? Most of them are from time to time quite poor at determining when it's better to hold off and steer the attacking player and when it's time to make a tackle. Garrido wasn't an extreme type of Spanish defender, that's how most of them play, or at least was until a couple of years ago.

Navaz would not get away with much of what's displayed in the video if he had played in England. I blame everything on the bad song that accompinied the video.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Agreed, I'm worried he's going to get bossed and then go all homesick on us. If he's better than Nasri, I'll be amazed, and I'm no fan of Nasri.

FFS this guy is class. whether or not he pulls up stumps in his first season in the PL, he will pose a new type of attacking threat for the cloggers to deal with, which should open up space and allow the other midgets to operate. and his pace will be a huge asset on the break.

Are oscar or hazard anymore physically threatening? My only concern is his well documented home sickness, we've already had one of those sagas

He's a different player to Nazzers.

He's most certainly an exciting player and one that I'm intrigued to see in a blue shirt, but please be aware that even I'd look good in a utube video because they're almost inevitably a little more than 10 minutes of the very best of whoever it is that pays the starring role.
Navas was seriously brilliant in the 2009/10 season - 51 games 10 goals and 18 assists - but his stats since then (and I'm no expert - just dragged it up on wiki) have gone downhill such that last season bagged him just the 1 goal and 9 assists in 43 games.
Let's hope we have the man but more so hope we have the best of the man (would be easily worth £30M+ on his 09/10 form!) and not the tail end of a much diminished golden spell.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I wanna be excited but he looks pretty average from the little I've seen and heard.

His season stats:
2012/13 Spanish La Liga
GAMES GOALS ASSISTS SHOTS
37 0 6 80

Nothing to brag about.

Can't help thinking of nery Castillo lol.

Looks like a mid range punt, just the sort of deal we did last summer. We need top players to improve what we already have and one would hope far higher quality of players than this is in the pipeline. They'd better be if we want to go places in Europe and win back the title.

Rumours of the return of Pizarro today too, didn't play much for us, but one of the most elegant players I've ever watched.

Yes, He's Mr. Vision. He slows down time when he's on the ball and turns with as much guile and grace as a ballerina.
Slow, mind. But a player I'd welcome.

Bale on the left, Jesus on the right. Swing the balls in and it's Dzeko's delight. We'd get to see him use his noggin and not lose the ball under his gangly legs!

... We won't get him though. And Edin is going (allegedly).
