If all the itk types are on the ball, & the signings mooted are correct, I wonder if Pelle is biting off a bit more than he can chew as far as attacking football goes. The Premier League is a muggers alley.
Still, it will all be fun.
The same people who whinged (and still do) about Mancini for his "negativity" will be the ones up in arms about Pellegrini and his overly cavalier attitude?
I give it three months. pmsl
It'll be the Keegan era with world class footballers. It's going to be amazing.
...Back on Navas, i am truly staggered at the attitude by some to this signing. He is one of the best wingers in the world, arguably probably in the top 10!
From what limited games I have seen him I think he will be a great success for us, however my limited opinions put aside, Sid Lowe, Graham Hunter, Christian Machowski and Guillem Balague, all extremely highly regarded spanish based football writers, who have watched him in depth over a prolonged period, all believe he is a fantastic signing for the club too. Other journos also have the same opinions.
Here's a few exerts to mull over;
From Christian Machowski;
Jesus Navas would be a very good signing for City and another loss to La Liga. Excellent winger with lightning speed. Always liked him.
When asked if he was just a Spanish Aaron Lennon,
A far superior version, in my opinion,
When asked about his small size and not being physical enough for the prem,
They only use the lightweight term in England. He would be fine.

From Sid Lowe;
At risk of repeating myself from earlier, re: Navas...he's fast as fuck, creates more chances from open play than anyone else in Spain, his homesickness problems appear resolved (but of course Manchester would be a test of that), he's talented, His game is evolving into something a little more than classic winger but he's not really in the Mata/Silva mould... if you look into his eyes, you'll be hypnotised ... oh, and he can't shoot for shit ..

From Graham Hunter;
People asking about Navas. WAS a time when travelling far from base caused anxiety but winning WC in Sarf & Euro in Pol/Ukr hints at change?
When confronted with the claim that Walcott is the better player,
disagree totally Navas>Walcott

and finally a more local opinion,
From Rob Dawson, MEN;
Anxiety issues seem to be in the past. Sought help and been to World Cup and Euros since then. Clearly, spending six weeks away and living abroad are different things but he looks to have found a way of coping. Good luck to him. Went to watch Sevilla play Real Madrid in the Bernabeu in 2010. Never seen anyone move as quickly as Navas on a football pitch. Lightning.

Hopefully these quotes ease the minds of some people and encourage a feeling of excitement.
We are about to sign a lightning fast world class world cup winning wing wizard! Isn't this the type of signing people wanted!?!
