I see You are still trying to enhance Your personal twists of the "moving on" concept, also trying to trade my openly stated intention to stay off the revisionist agenda You are running with the support of other cheating morons, for the fact that I left.

Keep delude Yourself.

Point taken, Apologies delivered.

Quite liking the "bunny boiling weirdo" thingy, tbh. nicely put.

Slim, have I ever said You are a [lovely] double cunt?

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

there must be some truth, then!

Back in the bad old days , around 5-6 times a season, I would scream "That's IT! I have had ENOUGH! I cannot take any more !!" and stomp off , denouncing the name of Manchester City , vowing NEVER to return , and to support Altrincham or Stockport, or give up football altogether .(Yes , once or twice , I even contemplated the unthinkable , but thought "No ; even in this black hour of despair, I can't do THAT - no matter how bad things get , I'm bot going to do THAT!!)

. . . and next Saturday - "OK - back for more"

I got to deadline day for renewing when Peter Reid was managing. At the eleventh hour I got this completely irrational fear that if I stopped going we would sweep all before us and I'd miss it.
I think it's out of habit I've kept going really. What else would I do on a Saturday?

............... ah - now that I can understand. Last time for me was against Southampton. I took some real flax from the missus for going to that game because it meant missing a family event she considered important - and fuck me!!! - well you just had to be there to realise just how bad we were.

I was fucking fuming as I went back to the station - still so when I was on the train - probably even more so when chatting to other blues when changing trains - but before getting home the conversation had turned to just how we could still win the league!!!

Edit to say - but sorry I can be with you on the "denouncing CITY etc.." but I am sure that 'contemplating the unthinkable' is an exaggeration just to make the point? Being forced to drink the contents of a spittoon 3 times daily would not taste that bad

I think I'd be a happier person if I didn't have football in my life, more relaxed & a lower blood pressure, but I could never quit it, and supporting City & following football is the same thing for me, I've never known any different. So nothing has ever made me feel "I've had enough of City" they've given me some of the lowest 'feelings' in my life but also some of the best!

City were my first love at 8 years old. They have outlasted every other interest and relationship I've had. At 45, I don't see anything changing.

Nope. My son is a bit of a waster and City are far more important.

The Stu Pearce season almost killed everyone off i think, last game of that season that was only briefly punctuated by 'beanie' was like everone was leaving a wake, we all said our goodbyes in a way that you may never see that person again. Think everyone wanted to jack at that stage, but when renewal came through it was just instinct.

Its different when you're playing shite and in crap leagues scrapping for everything, feels like your part of a niche rebellion scrapping with stone clubs. But that Stu Pearce season was suicide watch it was so damn dull!

5 members of my (extended) family gave up season-tickets under the Pearce tenure. Although they all still go, they've all got out of the habit of going regularly.

I nearly stopped going in the early 90s when it was obvious that football was becoming business first, fans second (if that). However....

For me it's sort of the other way round. Many times I've considered giving up on football only to have my interest re-kindled by City.

I don't attend 'live' as much as I used to but still renew my season ticket every year .... it's like getting your annual jabs even if you aren't going to go anywhere dodgy on holiday. A football team is for life not just for 30+ shit seasons

City are my only constant football-wise. I no longer support the England team beyond generally wishing them well, and I haven't been able to watch a non-City PL match for pleasure for years, especially if the Rags are involved. When you've heard of teams getting pissed on the eve of a match with Man U, when you've seen weakened teams being played against them, and seen blatant bias from referees it's very hard to remain enthusiastic. After following football for forty years I'm now getting more disillusioned with it year on year.
