I'd live with that if we're re signing Tevez. Otherwise we could get mugged for a 2nd rate striker next off season.

I agree. I wouldn't mind seeing that happen, with Guidetti as the 4th striker.

From his record, when he loses, he loses big.

Makes me think of Mancini and his lack of ability to make tactical changes when it goes wrong. Hopefully not and I think us having the best defence in the league will give him more freedom to go attack without worrying too much.

Was us having the best defence a result of the system we played or do we have the best defenders?

Well we have 2 of the best CB's in the league. In vinny we have the best CB in the world when he plays to his ability. We have the best keeper in the league. Zaba pisses it by a mile at right back when it comes to defence (most right/left backs are just shit wingers).

Our style isnt going to change much. Not defensively anyway. Everyone will still have to get back and help out and Barry still has a job.

You forgot to mention Kolarov at left back mate. By far the best in the league if not the world.

If we lose out on Cavani but get Isco, no problem. That would mean we have to re-sign Tevez, not least because he's so good at football. The best striker I have ever seen at City.

However, I would be very pleased to see Dzeko leave as I just do not rate him at all and I would really like to see us spend on Benteke, who I rate highly. That move would be cost neutral or even positive, if we save on Dzeko's inflated wags. That Atletico are linked with Benteke is also interesting as they have this superb track record of pulling out superb transfers. Benteke would score for fun at City. Dzeko has no first touch, so that's basically that then, totally unacceptable.

As for Kolarov, I hope he never pulls on a city short again. Appalling player.

Getting sick of all this crap about cavani. Its turning into the de rossi saga mark 2. Those Italian clubs certinally know how to stir it up.
We should keep tevez, get him to extend, dont want to see him going, if anyone goes rather see dzeko going.
Think we will get Isco.
At least we are active in the market early, much, much better so far than last summers fiasco.

Remember when Mancini thought it was a good idea to play him as a winger, good games those.

The Italians are appalling transfer market partners, for sure. Interesting that Cavani has not gone to Chelsea yet. I still think there is wrangling over Dzeko going to them and Cavani would prefer Chelsea. Napoli's interest in Dzeko maybe means we are offering less for Cavani, or saying that we will keep Dzeko if we cant have Cavani. Who knows?

Or that Mancini thought it was a good idea to spend millions on him. I mean, how and why does that happen?

Lets not forget the Kaka-fiasco where we were used by Berlisconi like we were a 15 year old girl!

having said that £100m well saved.

The whole Kaka thing was insulting, though I'm glad they 'bottled' it as I never wanted him to come anyway.
Looking back at it, indeed money saved.

Isco, however, I'd like to see him. Looks brilliant on the ball and could become very similar to Silva.

Yeh like against Sunderland when he scored the equalising goal that earned us a draw we wouldn't have won the league without.

Great signing if he does come!

Last I read Soriano and Txiki have discounted this one as it's a position we have a lot of very good players. But then all press is bollox in the silly season.

I've been following all the news pretty closely and I've seen them say or intimate nothing of the sort.

Where are you getting that from?

I'd be curious to know as well, creation is one area we really need to cover, especially since Silva will be playing a tournament this summer.

Isco is playing a tournament this summer too.

And has tweeted how unfair and outrageous the UEFA/TAS decision is.

Just for the record - I dont 'tweet' but do read the Spanish press!

Gabriel Marcotti was asked on Talk sport last night if there are any done deals (or as good as) to comment on, he said Isco to city was pretty much a dead cert.

Marcotti used to be a good source years ago, ubtil ESPN and Talkcrap got hold of him and he has lost a lot of respect.

I think the best source of any transfer knowledge from Spain is Guillem Balague, if he says its nailed on then I am pretty certain it would happen

I'm taking a rubbing of it
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.
