I think when I first joined I seem to remember Xavi posting that someone either messaged him or posted in a thread about his avatar and had a few digs at him. Vhero used to get a lot of shit. Some whopper made a random username up and joined the forum just to give me shit and try and wind me up. I just did a Bear and PM'd then and got on with my day.
I think Edge got a lot of shit and he was one of my favourite posters and now he doesn't post anymore which is a shame.
I think if someone is talking shit or WUMing then they're bound to get called out for it. I talk a lot of shit and I'm surprised that only a few respond to it.
It's going to happen. People shouldn't take it to heart it's an Internet forum. If you had a massive meet up, like what Gillie is planning, I can guarantee no one would say anything to someone they didn't like face to face. It's just part of the forum world isn't it?
I can't agree that people shouldn't take bullying to heart and bullying is something that we see a lot of on here - often racist and sometimes using terms for disability as terms of abuse (yes they get as low as that).
However, I must agree on the whole that most wouldn't say anything face to face but then what would be the point in meeting up if the cowards who regularly use the threatening and racist banter are too scared to mouth off in front of others? I'd love to meet ant from london or any of his mates to see if they employ abusive bullying to force their opinions home in the real world but I guess you're right - they'd be as good as gold while in striking distance (if they had the bottle to turn up in the first instance) and then they'd get tough again when back in the safety of their bedrooms.
Sad but true eh?
