I'm not defending anything: approximately 60-70% of Herb's posts have been (at least in part) complaining about the behaviour of other posters. Yet he wants the forum to be a place to discuss footballing issues.

Strikes me that there are many different characters with different attitudes and the place is richer for them. Maybe some people don't 'get' the style of certain posters. Carl is certainly different to anybody else here and I've met Ant and enjoyed many exchanges with him and read his posts and I simply don't see him as a racist. The people I don't get are the ones that get all precious about what others are saying. I like a good row about football, there are loads of people I disagree with (and some who decry others have got a bit personal) but it's all part of the experience of the forum.
As Dazby says, give over, crack on and don't get too uptight.
As an aside I've met quite a few off here and never found anybody who wasn't decent and sociable.

Nice suggestion (thanks :-)) but no because I think that 99+% of the users of this forum are good natured City fans who just want to enjoy the speculation, insight and debate that most of us look for in a forum. I don't think that foul language is a real issue (swear words used well add emphasis and passion) but racist terminology and deprecating use terms for disability as put downs isn't acceptable to any decent person . . well not in modern times in an informed society anyhow.
Ant, Carl & Doom Merchant seem to revel in such unacceptable language and I know from discussion with friends that many fans are put off joining this forum or posting because they see that clique constantly stepping in to use their bullying tactics.
Perhaps the less than 1% (the racist bullies) should form their own forum where they can throw vile and unacceptable insult at each other without offending others?

I know from discussions with friends that many fans want to join this forum as it has many colourful characters in it (Not you) and the banter from these characters(Which equates to most that have joined) has helped create a unique forum that isnt moderated by people like you and socrates (who was forced out from his Poll Pot moderating years ago).

Modern society is not made up of Mary Whitehouse mindsets however much you want it to be -this forum has always been honest and tolerant of different attitudes and characters , thats why its the best forum out there and has been since I joined it 14 years ago - cunts like you come and go but the main crowd that have kept this forum going throughout the years stay here and carry on with the banter, helping out others emotionally and in some cases financially - people that you slag off are included in that assistance.Even when we fight each other there is a special bond that unites us all and thats City and for the most part noone on here is twisted at all - the exact opposite.

Your time on this site would have been up if it was down to me but the moderators afford you the same leway that they give to everyones opinion and quite rightly so.
