Fixture thoughts for opening and final day**(SKY TV DATES)**

Postby craigmcfc » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:36 pm

The new fixtures are going to be announced in just over a weeks' time on the 19th of June. Who would you like as our first and last fixtures of the season?

I'm gonna go for a home game against United as our opening day fixture, hoping that it will take a few games for Gollum to get his tripe tactics into gear and we can have a confidence boosting early derby victory.

Presuming in which case that our final game will be at home as well, I'd be all for a last game winner takes all showdown with Jose and his Chelsea team.

I predicted last seasons opener correct and the one before....for some reason newly promoted teams are our fancy. We have been home 2yrs on the bounce so I am going for 1st game away versus Steve Bruces big fat outfit... Last game will be home versus Fulham

Liverpool tend to come pretty early these days (small giggle), so why not get our annual draw at anfield over with?

We've been at home on opening day to promoted sides the last 2 years, so am expecting something awful away from home like Sunderland/Everton/Liverpool et al.

Will Pellegrini be manager then? Or will they still be messing round.

I would like us to start at home and get an early win under our belts. Last thing we need is an away game at a difficult place.

Spuds away first game ala 3 or 4 seasons back, watched in Spain on my holibobs, 1-1 if remember correctly? Could have been longer ago.

I fancy Chelsea away first game, 'statement of intent' and all that... Beat Maureen early doors and the rag tops will be full of 'never go back' bollox :-)

Last game of season....... Hopefully we'll be safe ;-) probably be relegation fodder, hopefully Stoke, unless they have a new manager. Derbies, late August earlier September away and at ours late January so that our CL campaign isn't affected lol

I have a feeling we'll be getting the deal Liverpool got last season ... the starting fixtures that is ... did they play like top 3 or 4 sides in their first 5 fixtures back to back?

A rag coworker had joked then that after the 11/12 season, Fergie had asked FA/PL to cough up such shit against his enemy no. 1 ... somebody just forgot to tell those daft pricks, it's not Liverpool anymore.

But then with him gone, who knows how much love they still got ... I actually have a funny feeling the whiskey nose will secretly be wishing Moyes fails, so his mafia all over can sing more praise for him that see how without him they are no shit, well, just shit.

Something similar to the last couple of years would be nice, even any home fixture.

Only games I probably wouldn't want first are Liverpool, Everton or Sunderland away - purely because we always struggle there. Although, hopefully Pellegrini will put a stop to that.

I'd like Chelsea away as our opening competitive game - but in the league this year.
Rags at home for the last game after they've give us our guard of honour at the swamp in April.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.
