It's a pity he's not in the Spanish starting 11 tonight.Silva is playing behind lone striker Villa. That Spanish side is as good as full strength can't help but feel Ireland could find themselves getting a right flogging tonight.

Up until this news today (and while reading the forum and threads running high volume) I was contemplating banning myself for that period mate!

0-0 after 45 minutes
Of course we're flattered, and lucky to be holding this Spanish side: their passing is just dazzling, and Ireland will be lucky to escape with a three goal defeat.
Having said that, had Shane Long been playing, instead of Connor Sammon, we might well have gone in a goal up

Hopefully Navas will get a good run out and score the clinching goal

Navas on now for the second half.Ireland hanging on for dear life but some decent work from McCarthy and Coleman again tonight, both are looking like key players now.

Yeah looking a useful outlet for the Spanish on the right.Going to be great to see a bit of pace down the flanks again.

Buzzing over this signing, exactly the sort of player we've needed for years now and you couldn't ask for a much better pedigree really.

The transfer fee, while not particularly important, is also nice so overall this is great.

Agree with all you've written there - reasonable transfer fee, and a position we've urgently needed to fill. Then add in the fact he plays for Spain, and it looks like a great deal.

Will Saulman and Saul Goodman change their names to Paulman and Paul Goodman, now that we got Jesus?

Not to judge the fella out, but maybe some spanish blues around here can respond to this question:

Why Real or Barcelona didn"t bought him or showed interest in him? I"ve watched him since Sevilla was stellar with Dani Alves and Kanoute, Navas was good and i have never heard anything about him, ever. No offers, nothing.

What is wrong with him?
