Why Real or Barcelona didn"t bought him or showed interest in him? I"ve watched him since Sevilla was stellar with Dani Alves and Kanoute, Navas was good and i have never heard anything about him, ever. No offers, nothing.
What is wrong with him?
Navas said: "We've been talking with Manchester City for four months. The decision is taken.

Ping Ted Hughes.
Like I said, manager has little say in identnifying targets and weaknesses within squad. This whole Navas project was on when Mancini was still manager. Mancini who never used wingers. They just kept with their despite new manager who isn't even signed yet.
What makes this Navas signing so interesting is that from what I've seen of him over the years he has little versatility. He is a specialist winger who hugs the touchline and lives off his pace and trickery. Now I love good wing player myself but spending this sort of money for wideman ties the hands of the new manager somewhat as far as tactics go. This is pretty much why Pellegrini himself felt he failed with Real.
Half the signings Mancini made were beng negotiated when Hughes was manager.
There is no other option. If you don't talk to players all the time they don't sign. The bullshit that Mancini was coming out with regarding transfers, that we didn't work on them til the very end, was exactly that; bullshit & blatant lies. Garcia himself said we had contacted him months earlier. we had been talking to RVP for months (as he himself has said). Vieira went to watch Hazard months before we lost out to Chelsea. These people CHOSE to go elsewhere as Cavani may do, as Sanchez did.
I posted on here last year that we were after Isco (Mancini went to see him play, remember ?) I also posted that a Sky reporter had said, we were close to signing him. That was before Tricky even arrived.
We were after Jovetic, as a kid, when Pearce was manager & yet Mancini was still looking at him last season. Jovetic was scouted before Marwood or even Hughes' scouts arrived.
That's how it has always worked. One problem last season was that we allowed all the main blokes who had been dealing with that stuff to leave before the window opened; a clear indication that Khaldoon didn't fancy spending huge money, but completely & repeatedly ignored on here.
Yes of course we were talking to Navas AND Cavani, & everyone else we may sign.
