Pellegrini confirms back room staff including Brian Kidd

Postby CTID Hants » Fri Jun 14, 2013 3:13 pm

New City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed the composition of his back room staff.

The Chilean, who has signed a three-year contract with the Blues, will bring three trusted lieutenants with him from Malaga to Manchester.

Long standing right hand man Ruben Cousillas from Argentina will be Pellegrini’s assistant and also making the journey from La Liga to the Premier League will be goalkeeping coach Xabier Mancisidor and fitness coach Jose Cabello.

Former City star Brian Kidd, who moved from City’s Academy into the first team set up when Roberto Mancini was appointed, will remain as part of the management team as one of Pellegrini’s assistants.

It is important to me that Brian remains part of the coaching team,” said Pellegrini.

“He has great football knowledge, knows the league, the players and will be a big part of what we try to achieve. We have spoken and we are all excited to work together.”

Absolutely delighted Kiddo is involved.

Gives everything a sense of continuity.

Great interview, he is very charismatic.

I think he will do wonders with players morale.

Delighted with Kiddo staying.

Very funny how is saying Txixi Begiristain, it sounds like Cheeky Begiristain.

So does this mean that Kidd is a sort of.... appointment to the coaching staff of the board? I.E. that he's suppose to keep communication smooth in the trinity that is the players, the manager and Ernie and Burt?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

That's the correct pronunciation in Basque.

Aye to be fair that's how all City personnel have called him. Khaldoon, Sorano and now Pellegrini.

Interesting that Pellegrini's "right hand man" is an Argentinian.

Might, in itself, prove useful in connection with our own Sergio/PabZab/Carlos triumvirate, or in attracting other Argentinian players to join our ranks in the future.

Might persuade Tevez to stick it out. I think he will perform brilliantly under Pello.
