Giovanni Cavani - the Italian hotshot's second cousin on his mother's side - has moved to quash rumours that Edinson wants to move to Manchester City stating:

"That fucking club was only formed about 3 years ago. Why would any cunt pick them over a proper club? Edinson has no love for money - he has been doing this shit for free since he started his career. He hates City".

The only disappointment is that Manchester United are not in for him. we understand that not only would he play for them for free; he would also take a second job in nearby Greggs so that he could pay the beacons of light just for the honour of donning their magical jersey.

managerless City fighting managerless Real for Cavani and Isco

and possibly Pellegrini

wonder what the final score will be.
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

His uncle, Sid Cavani, says he fancies Everton.

Sid's long lost cousin, 'Arry, nearly signed him once.

Anyone else read this?

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has hinted that Manchester City are out of the race to sign Edinson Cavani after refusing to pay the striker's buyout clause.

The Uruguay international is also a target for both Chelsea after notching 102 goals in 124 matches for the club in all competitions over three seasons, but Goal exclusively revealed a player-plus-cash deal involving Edin Dzeko has stalled.

De Laurentiis, while revealing Chelsea's interest, has always maintained Cavani will only be sold if his €63 million [£53.7m] buyout clause is met.

"City said that they can't pay €63m for Cavani," De Laurentiis told reporters. "They can only afford Cavani if they sell first."

"I could accept a part-exchange deal if the players proposed are attached with a figure that represents the actual value of the player.

"[Edin] Dzeko for example, is no longer what he once was, he was not a starter last season. He did not perform how he did in the Bundesliga [with Wolfsburg]. This is assuming that Dzeko wants to join Napoli, of course."

De Laurentiis did, however, backtrack from his previous statement that Chelsea were interested in Cavani by claiming the Europa League winners are yet to make their interest concrete.

He added: "Chelsea never made contact with me. I have always heard rumors indirectly."

Cavani recently described a possible move to Real Madrid as a 'dream', but De Laurentiis says the striker's words were taken out of context, though admitted a move to Santiago Bernabeu would likely be hard to turn down.

"With Edinson nothing has changed," he said. "Headlines I've read in the papers did not represent his words exactly. He could never deny the importance of a club like Real Madrid's, but don't forget that he made his name at Napoli.

"If a club like Anzhi enquire about him, maybe he says no, but other clubs like Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid could persuade him to leave.

"He knows that he has a contract and an obligation to us, and there is a buyout clause. Cavani knows that at Napoli is he is the most important player. I do not know whether, at Real Madrid or in other teams, he will be as important.

"[Cavani] will decide what to do and we will support him."

To be fair at that price I wouldn't pay it either.

Seeing all this second hand, but apparently he claimed we can only meet FFP through a second company together with a comment about are you watching Mr Platini?

We should publicly accept it's a shame we can't afford him and how disappointing it'll be for Cavani as we were willing to make him the world's highest paid sports star and then leave ADL to deal with the complaints.

He's not worth anywhere near £53m so glad we've avoided this only, frankly.

ADL is a fucking joke who realizes that his cash cow is quickly slipping away. between his gamesmanship and public slagging off of our club, and cavani's madrid-licking and shite performances at Confed, he will be lucky to get more than 35MM from anyone.

I think nearly all of us wanted him at first, but now i imagine, like myself, glad we are not spending that amount of money on him.

I think the players we are bringing in, the current players we already have and with the new boss having an ability to get the best out of players should bring our success rate up and our goal tally also.
