Watching "Barcelona Confidential" only the other evening, I was struck with the fact that Barca seem to have 2 competing factions vying for power, with Soriano and Tricky well tied well and truly in with the La Porta camp.
Since Pixie and Dixie have come to City, Barca, a club we seemed to have enjoyed a decent recent relationship with, have been making more than a few anti City noises.
If there is any truth in any of this and that remains to be seen, I don't feel comfortable about City as a club becoming embroiled in any personal/political issues that Pixie and/or Dixie may bring with them.
There is enough at City alone to keep them occupied without unnecessary, possibly damaging distractions.

Not sure whether it would be good or not. Whether this sort of thing is what Soriano was brought in for - to play politics with the very big boys and play a role right at the top of the European game, eventually leading to us pulling Twatini's strings.
Brian Marwood couldn't play in that card school and although Gary Cook is a capable man he never was a football man. From the first time I heard Soriano was coming (and his pal) I thought it was another way to buy into the top table.

The 1st thing is that we don't know if any of this is true or just plain speculation from the media. Beyond that, if true, I agree that we don't need any extra distractions of Spanish football politics or left over personal vendettas. Even further beyond that however, if we have made an enemy of Barca, and they have made noises recently about us, we may need Real as an ally.
Like you Mate, if any of this is true, I don't feel comfortable.

No wonder the world of finance collapsed.
