So we can only sign players they don't want. Bollocks.

What I see are signs that RM and Malaga are in agreement, not RM and the player.

Real, at the moment, is a far greater pull for most players and the thought of Isco having a chance to go there would probably make his footballing dream come true. I'd even suggest that he'd take a far lesser wage just for the chance.

This is not to say that we cannot offer him something more appealing. Coming to us offers further development with less pressure to perform than at Real with also the better proposition of being a first choice player. We also have the 'Project' with long term stability. And then there's our hispanic contingent as well as the Pellegrini affect which could be crucial in any talks, lessening the cultural blow.

For me it's a 60/40 in favour of Real but in the end it will all be down to who offers the greater funds to Malaga and which club is going to give Isco the love and attention to thrive.

He has a BOC it is down to the amigos and the manager to seal the deal, They are on millions to do so.

He is also Spanish with the biggest club in the world possibly wanting to sign him. Forget the weather, forget the restaurants, forget the 'Project' and drop the 'Blue Tints' for a second, sometimes negotiations are not enough.

No blue tints here, I want us to deliver, The changes since the Cup Final for me anyway are you wanted change you got it, now deliver.

Finger clicking . Better package, we lose Isco we have found another way to come up short again, if he decides against coming to us.

So basically, Isco will just sign for whoever offers him the most money ?

Surely his relationship with pellegrini will be a considerable factor, so it's not all about money.

Exactly, it's not all about money, so lets see what City offer that Real, can't. (this is not a dig at your post btw just a general reality check for others).

Pellegrini: check.
Money/wages ? They have loads of it so nope.

First team place ? Well, tbf, we do have Silva Nasri, Fernandinho, Yaya, Navas, Milner & Rodwell as competition whereas Real have Kaka, Modric & Ozil, Di Maria & that German horsefaced bloke. Hmm, hang on, not so cut & dried.

Champions League, hmm group of death again, nope.
Worlds 2nd best player as a team mate ? Ermm, nope.
Worldwide exposure as a player for the world's biggest club? Err..nope
Better image rights ? Ermm, nope.
Better chance of playing in the Spanish team? Err, nowhere near.
Better house ? Nope.
More stuff to do ? Nope.
Better weather ? Nope.
Language ? Nope.
Access to friends & family ? Nope.

So basically, it's Pellegrini then & that's it ? Yep.

In that case, sack Soriano & Txiki if we don't sign him.

Chance to learn a new language? Yes.
Chance to have new life experiences and his broaden his outlook by moving to another country? Yes.
Bad weather, but giant insects? No.
2 decent restaurants? Yes.
Move to a club never linked to fascism? Yes.
Sky blue home shirt? Yes.
Supported us all his life? Presumably.
Gregg's Bakery? Yes.
Get to hear songs sung about you that contain flat vowels? Yes.

Jobs a good 'un....

On the first team place argument Pellegrini must be factored in. A manager you know, trust and respect against a manager you've never met before.

Who's he? Honest question, not having a dig.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Same here, looked into it a couple of days ago and seems iffy to say the least.

That's the trouble with twitter and the media in general, false storys can be spred so easily.

Seems about right

Woke up to this:

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Malaga to sign Spanish wonderkid Isco, according to reports.

Having inspired Spain’s U21 side to victory at the Euros this summer, speculation has been rampant over the star’s future with Manchester City, Chelsea and other top European clubs all linked with him.

But Real Madrid appear to have won the race to sign the player, with a fee of 30 million euros having already been accepted from the Spanish giants, according to both AS and Marca.

The move will reportedly be confirmed early next week, with the starlet currently on holiday in Ibiza and having been informed of the deal by his father.

Real Madrid are still without a coach but sporting director Zinedine Zidane is believed to have pressed president Florentino Perez to push through the deal.

Isco is set to sign a five-year contract and a Real player - possibly Russian winger Denis Cheryshev - could join Malaga on loan as part of the deal.

Although that's also according to AS and Marca

So assuming from all this that we won't be getting cavani or isco now? What are our realistic targets now? Have these 2 people (texi and soriano) got something up there sleeve? Or there is no other players we are after?

I'd wouldn't be shocked if the whole Cavani thing is just posturing, if Isco falls through, we'll go back to the table again... if we haven't already that is.

I keep reading other stuff that say, yes, RM and Malaga have agreed but RM and Isco havent.
Graham Hunter, and a sparse few others, say Isco still prefers City. GH claims City will fly him out this weekend. Others suggest City wont meet Malaga's asking price (stupid if true!)
