It's been revealed that Gary Cook was drafted in to help bring Pellegrini to the club. They didn't see eye-to-eye over dough at first, but soon enough Pellegrini was able to make Cook see that what he wanted to do could work for both parties. The OS has uploaded a snippet of their negotiations:

Roberto has gone now time to move on.

have heard lots of good things about this man.Would be nice if he turned up at the Etihad today dressed as father Christmas and Isco jumped out off his sack.

Perhaps they've been holding out hoping to arrange the Isco, vampire girls, Ozzy Osbourne press conference but are now just having Pellegrini & Bernard Halford instead.

Manuel Pellegrini spent his first official day as City manager heaping praise on the first two signings of his tenure.

Fernandinho and Jesus Navas both joined the Blues in recent weeks and as Pellegrini draws up plans for the 2013/14 season, he was keen to welcome his pair of new recruits.

“Jesus is a player I know well from La Liga and he is someone I have admired for a long time,” said the Blues’ boss.

“He is quick, has excellent technique and I think the City fans will enjoy watching him play. He will provide a variety of attacking options for us and he can also score goals as well as create them for others. He is an excellent signing for the club.

“Jesus is a world and European champion and a regular squad member in a very special Spain team.

On Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, the City boss was equally fulsome in his praise, believing the summer signing from Shakhtar Donetsk will add a new dimension to the Blues’ midfield.

“I made Fernandinho one of the top priorities; he has impressed me on a number of occasions over the past few years and is another player I’ve taken a keen interest in,” he said.

“He is an experienced international who will further strengthen our midfield and I think he will be well suited to the Premier League.

“He is a superb athlete with a wide range of passing, can score goals and most importantly, can quickly turn defence into attack.

“Both Jesus and Fernandinho add pace and skill to what is already a very talented and successful squad. I am looking forward to working with both our new signings and to working with the players who have already won a Premier League title together.

“We have a very strong pool and together we aim to achieve great things.”

So he is definitely getting a say in who comes and goes then, rather than some of the suggestions that it is down to the Spaniards?

Its possible that he has been 'involved' for a lot longer than any of us think.

Reports are that he is still in Chile,so that interview could be pre-recorded ready for today.

Not sure why he was not at the Etihad first day off his new job, unless he had a prior arrangement that could not be missed.

Was doing some lecture at a university. Must have been prior arrangment but why not have him start tue and to fly in to a presser. Not really a Monday to friday job is it.

I just have this sneak feeling he will do a press conference and have this Isco kid with him.

Of course he isn't involved.

You fucking idiots.

Neither was Mancini apart from when he fought and fought

Marwood signed Adam Johnson for instance

Then Mancini signed Silva, Yaya, Aguero (Marwood was in Eastern Europe watching Savic) , not sure about Vieira he may be classed as quality, in which case he's down to Mancini , same with Dzeko, we'll see how he does next season, if he has a stinker, Marwood signed him, Kolarov definitely Marwood (Seria A fucking expert) Marwood & Mancini almost came to blows about Savic, Mancini's mate, who was his manager, told Marwood he was fucking shite, but in spite of Mancini's protests, Marwood insisted on signing him like he did Maicon last season. It's just endless.

Now we have these Spanish blokes & this vampire cunt is pretending he knew who Fernandinho & Navas were; as if.
