Mixed feelings about this. His work rate is second to none and on the pitch he gives it all he has, but with one year left on his contract and him not signing a new contract, the only good option is to sell him.

I hope to Odin's raven that we do not sign Suarez though. Don't want that twat at the club where he'll just cause more trouble. He's done it at Ajax, he's done it at Liverpool. What makes anybody think he won't do it anywhere else? He's baggage and not worth it.

I am absolutely gutted that we're selling him. What he did in Munich was terrible, and I didn't like the guy for a long time, but he has been superb since he's been back (like he was before then). He never once moaned last season despite Mancini subbing him every week, even if there were 10 other worse players on the pitch.

His attitude on the pitch is a model for others to follow. I would rather us have kept him for one more year and let him go on a free transfer, as someone of his ability can be the difference between winning and losing a league.

To replace him with someone of equal ability is going to cost us a small fortune, and probably take our summer spending close to 100m. With FFP coming into play, I wonder how we can afford to do this, whereas if we sold him next summer, we wouldn't have just bought a central midfielder or winger for almost 50m and could focus our spending on a striker.

I really hope the club has a plan to replace him with someone world class, and to do it quickly too.

No mixed feelings about this at all, I fell out of love with Tevez after the Bayern incident.

To be fair to the guy though after his golf holiday he has put in a decent shift but in the past year he definitely has lost his pitbull spark.

Taking everything into account, I totally back the clubs move to sell him. At 29, with one year left on his deal you could have seen him walking out for nothing, which would have been awful. At least this way we get a few quid and save his 200+k per week salary.

Good business.

Excellent deal I say. One in the feather for Txiki.

I wouldn't have minded him running out his contract and going to Argentina. But it seems he has now put that off for a bit.

Bit surprised due to all his 'family settling' issues.

As, I think miserable Ted said....even without any new additions we should have the best squad in the country if the Count can get them playing properly...but I'd like some more new talented blood. Khaldoon's excitement in that interview suggested that there may be something pretty amazing. It's been good so far, one genuine superstar now needed though if we let Carlos go.

Khaldoon looked like a kid in a sweet shop when asked about transfers. He almost could not contain himself. Surely you cannot get THAT excited over Jesus and Ferdy - as good as they seem to be. One word...Bale.

When it comes to Tevez, everything off field was utter bollocks.

I remember reading in the papers that on the same day a few years ago he was giving interviews complaining about wanting to go home to argie because he missed his family, then after that, went out clubbing with his "girlfriend" who of course wasn't his wife.

Make no mistake, selling Tevez is a good deal for the club, I honestly thought he was going to do something daft like walk out on a free to Chelsea. Ha!

Good work Txiki!

Well now we really do need that striker.

Barca were told that they should prepare to sell Messi last week, now there is a nice thought.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I keep hearing this.

Why should they prepare to sell him?

Cavani: Contract runs out in 2017, has a (presumably) 63 buy out clause.
Tevez: Contract runs out in 2014, has no buy out clause.

Fairly simple economics there.

I think Cyruff has suggested he and Neymar aren't both needed and messi is at peak value. So I heard anyway.

Why have you both misspelled Cruyff?

Or are we talking about someone else?

Of course its just not quite that simple, this time 12 months or less Tevez would be free to go where ever he wanted to, that makes a huge difference to transfer values.

Indeed, despite the alleged £27mil in savings I'd rather have sold Dzeko for £10mil ... Tevez will be a big loss for us

Won't be shedding any tears over Tevez's departure. Top player whose effort on the pitch can't be faulted. However, having him at your club is a bit like being told you have lung cancer and still smoking 20 a day. Two transfer requests, a mid season golf holiday and community service hanging over him. Let's not forget how desperate he was to return home as he signs for an Italian club.

We got four good years out of him and would have lost him for nothing at the end of the season. Juve have a bargain if he lasts more than a year but you never can tell with Carlos. Once the transfer is signed sealed and delievered I have a cracking story about him I have saving up for when he left the club which shows what type of person he is.

It was time to move on for all concerned. Looking forward to seeing who we have lined up.
