Dismay? What is up with fans today!

Firstly, not a chance we have been "priced out" of Cavani. We know what he could cost, we are just playing the game, like Chelsea and all the others that are in for him. Cavani now more than ever, is not over.

Secondly, Losing Isco to RM sucks but it hardly is worth pissing in the milk. As I have said before there is so much talent in the world, if you miss one, you look to another. It's just about finding and buying people of the highest quality, of which there are many.

Thirdly, Why does the club need to reassure fans over Tevez? Anyone with half a brain knows why he has gone, he has one year left and he is Tevez! That guy could have royally fucked us and walked out for nothing in a year and joined a prem rival and not bat an eyelid. This way we save his wages and make some money back on the initial transfer and don't have him coming back to haunt us. The club is doing a good deal here, they don't need to justify it.

Finally, we have signed already this summer nearly 50 millions worth of talent, one a world cup winner. We will get more and of the highest quality.

Just because a Tevez goes out and we have bad luck in a fight for a player with RM doesn't validate a fucking meltdown.

If city continues down the path it is going this summer and buys well and most importantly continues to clear the dead wood and revitalise the squad with quality and youth lads (something that needed to be done last year imo) this will have been an excellent summer.

Everyone chill the fuck out and have some patience. Pre season hasn't even started yet FFS!!

My point was though that there is a lot of negativity due to the three reasons stated, which have all happened in a really short space of time. No one likes a bit of bad news, never mind three lots depending in how you look at it.

Cavani is decent, but overpriced. Isco is talent and would have liked him here, but I don't think he is a world beater as yet. Tevez is quality, whether you like him or not and will need replacing.

If these cases would have happened over the course of the transfer window, i don't think there would be this amount of pessimism.

I do think more will go, and I think saving 25-30 million this year alone by getting rid of Tevez is a good idea.

We will have concerns over transfers all through the window though. This will derive from the poor one we had last season.

If you make two teams of 11 with our current squad, our first team frigging amazing, but our 2nd 11 is a mid table team at best.

That will be no good for a long, hard season.

And, as far as I'm concerned, that has been the case for two years. All that talk about us having two equally good teams was just guff, either the media blowing smoke up our arses or, more likely, giving us a rope to hang ourselves with. The thing is, the same could be said about any of the better Premier League teams. In fact, the Rags just won the league with a team of committed but focused players who were laughable against anyone decent - in Europe and at home. Which raises all kinds of questions about where our priorities now lie. Retaining the PL would have been amazing last season, but it's almost as if we now need to overachieve next season to make up for all our disappointments. We're not now talking about having a squad that can win the PL back, but of challenging Real, Barca and Bayern for the Champions League.

We don't need two equally great teams, we just need squad members who can do a decent job when it's asked of them; to maybe do a reasonable job against the Hulls and Norwiches and give our big guns an occasional rest. That would be a big step forward in itself.

That's all very well and good, but when you consider the fact that Boyata is terrible, Kolarov isn't much better, 'new signing' doesn't exist and Guidetti seems to have disappeared into some abyss and i'd hazard a guess will probably miss most of the season, then you could argue it doesn't look quite as rosy and there's work to be done....just to play devil's advocate.

We may have the best midfield (& one that doesn't even need Isco, it has to be said), but Boyata is not good enough (trying not to use the word 'shit'), Kolarov can't be relied on defensively to say the least, Guidetti is perma-crocked & NEW SIGNING is a big capital QUESTION MARK. And not the only one at that.
Can we rely on Nasri? Rodwell's fitness? Richards' fitness? Will Lescott stay? Will Hart pull his finger out? Does Silva need a break? And on it goes.
A squad is not merely about its talent & while ours is a very good one capable of winning the league (even if the new signing turns out to be Roque Santa Cruz), I wouldn't say it's streets ahead of anybody serious in any of our targeted competitions.

Genuinely makes me laugh at those who hold the fact he was a former rag against him. His best days were by far and away in a blue shirt, he'll go down as one of ours, not one of theirs.

Boyata and Kolarov aren't good enough to start on a regular basis. That's why they don't. We could do with another up-and-coming centre-half as well as a forward or two and then we're laughing.

We've got the best squad now and if any back-up gaps remain come August maybe one or two kids will step up.
