2. Hed play where we would have put Isco and be better at doing that job (Isco)
3. He would provide more assists than Isco, Balotelli & Tevez. (Isco, Tevez, Balotelli)
4. He'll score freekicks (Balotelli, Kolarov, Tevez)
5. He will sell more shirts than the rest of the team put together
edit: 6. He is known to have enjoyed working under Pellagrini

One singing covers the job of all those individuals and if we work out the finances its quite feasible. Plus its possible because of our Nike deal.

To me it makes perfect sense.

edit: You know this has got me thinking. Maybe we were after him all along and we were trying to sign Isco to make Real agree some sort of deal with us?.. (Far fetched I know but you never know with all these football politics).

Well, something is going on. Something big.

The reasons you give for buying him are bang on the mark. As are the reasons others have listed for not wanting him.

If he moves to England, that team will probably win the league.

I think our owners have made Messi enquiries. If they are shot down/have been shot down again and again, then it is not entirely impossible that the greatest alternative is Ronaldo.

Fuck it, I'm sitting back with my arms crossed.

I think we will sign a striker, possibly a young lad, & possibly a young midfield player.

I think Tricky & Soriano are doing what they did at Barca; knocking down the wage bill & then building up the quota of homegrown players.

I'm also pretty sure that's the plan. I think these "marquee signings" are thing of the past now. They will probably try to get young guns in early in their career and instill some "City way" mentality. I think that was the long term plan to begin with.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

And that IS where the fans will have to ignore a Chelsea flying start and back the new manager to get it right as it all beds in. I predict a decent start for us BTW.

So the deal is Messi and the Scott Sinclair version of the deal of Ronaldo?

Fuck I hope we get Messi then.

The mutual antipathy between Soriano and Begiristain on the one hand and Sandro Rossell on the other means I very much doubt they would even communicate let alone do business. Our two seem to be constantly plotting to bring him down as they have a big grudge.

However maybe if they could plot to force Messi off him, that may finish him off!

They will never be a thing of the past. Barca still make marquee signings. It's important for them and even more important for us.

Last season we missed too many chances . Something has to change up front. We lost ballotelli and now Tevez. They need to be replaced with proven goal scorers. The two we have got left dzeko and aguero both missed shed loads of chances.(I know aguero was injured a lot).
But if we change the system are they both gonna start scoring. That's a big chance to take because, if these two had scored the goals we'd have won the league. What evidence is there to suggest they will convert their chances this season. We can not enter the new season without improving our strikers because they weren't good enough last season. If we don't improve our strikers Chelsea and the rags will finish above us

As it stands and will change, if Kun got injured the wheels would be off, so I hope we are looking at a proven striker and it is gonna cost. No short cuts if you want to be feared.

This.

Take Tevez goals away from last season and it's a drop down the league I'm afraid.

Asking two to do the work of 4 won't work.

That's true, but I wasn't arguing that Tevez was our most effective, just that we are depleting goals from a squad that needed to add them.

I dont think anyone would bet against us getting another forward in........after that we only need another left sided winger and a back up goalie , then we are ready imo.
