I wouldn't mind us going for some young German talent. Draxler maybe? But I feel like he just signed a new deal.
Maybe Witsel from Zenit? Plays for a good Belgium team.

Also, there's some stuff out there about being in for Michu; can't see Swansea selling though

Can't sign a South American player till their 18, unless their whole family miraculously decides to move to Manchester, and we know what scum pull that trick.
you and your fucking details....
let me just do the maths...based on Slim's correction of my commentary and Ted's post about how we'll every scouting dept is (which i'm not trying to refute....it's a simple argument that's bound to be true):
A player turns 18 and by then has been found to have something or not, maybe, potentially. And every team knows about him.
A player with the potential to play in Europe then likely gets snapped up by Porto, Benfica, or Shaktar potentially or plays in some South American league for a year or two so we can keep watching him grow. Depending on the investment model that the player ownership team has for an exit strategy determines how likely they are to let them go to a smaller club or wait for one of the big boys to get wet underpants and want to fuck (e.g. Fernandinho vs Neymar)
My point was just -- why don't we start taking more flyers like those Portugeezers and Ukranian/Russian teams are doing? Is it a statutory thing about work permits? Surely there is a reason. Right?
cheers

WTF! If he goes there I'll be very disappointed. Not only because they're shite and he can do better, but because its someone else in England.

He'd actually be doing us a favour if we played against him twice a season though.

Literally?

Schalke have received £51.3 million bids from Real Madrid and Manchester City for their 19-year-old midfielder Julian Draxler
The Daily Star suggests that Swansea’s Michu could be another name on City’s shortlist after the Spaniard enjoyed a sensational debut campaign at the Liberty Stadium – scoring 18 Premier League goals.
Before signing for the Swans, the 27-year-old had plied his trade exclusively in Spain, and reports suggest that could be key for new Blues boss, Manuel Pellegrini.
“Michu had spent his whole career in Spain, playing for Oviedo, Celta and Rayo Vallecano, before moving to the Premier League,” reports the paper’s Jack Wilson.
“And for the past nine years, Spain has been the base of new City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
“He enjoyed spells at Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga and knows the Spanish game - and its players - well.”
