Maybe we should see what happens when we play some matches before we crow about how wonderful we are or how wonderful the manager is.

Which is pretty much what I said in my second sentence surely.

I think perhaps I have quoted the wrong post there.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

FFP ffs.

FFP is the bullshit excuse used by many when the fact is that these player's are still being signed by top clubs for ridiculous figures? Do people on this website only think that FFP applies to City? The fact is that none of the top players want to come here, we were one an attractive proposition to big names like Silva, Yaya, Tevez and Aguero, however now we are not taken seriously.

Why not? Why aren't we taken seriously? Do you honestly believe that players came here for the lure of an ex-Nike executive?

I would however be happy to see one striker and one central defender signed in this window.

Just to play devil's advocate, what has he ever won in Europe?

That is a rational point of view, we know he got a record points tally at Real but didn't win anything, the same can be said of his days as commander in chief of the yellow submarine. Winning is a mentality and that only applies to end result, league or cup. There is a belief system at work here, and in many ways we have to, as fans, buy into it. Pellegrini instills confidence in me, he seems like the kind of person I would respect and enjoy as a boss and from watching the video of his first 48 hours at City, that feeling has been strengthend. I believe in him, the same could and still can be said for mancini, from my point of view but I could also understand why he got the boot. I am going to enjoy Pellegrinis tenure, Isco or no disco

I'm not saying I'm against him being in charge. He will get fair chance from me and I quite like him as a character. However he has been brought here to win and I fully expect him to at very least show he is capable of doing it in his first season.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

If my aunt had balls and all that. Some managers seem to consistently win shit and others don't. With us Pellegrini needs to jump from latter group to former. Simple as that.

Intertoto Cup.

Just out of curiosity, does his record in management in S. America not count for anything?

It will be unsettling if Cavani goes to PSG.

It's also the Sheikh's desire that we build a sustainable club.

@Sandman, are you suggesting that before we'd won the league people took us seriously but since then they don't? FFS Aguero.

Can you not recognise that the big players on stupid money were bought before the FFP regulations kicked in? The strategy was to show a big loss, then work towards moving to break even. Which the club has done.

Other clubs may be snubbing their nose at FFP. We sure aren't.
