I meant to say in a long time, being the only team in the Capital City of France.. with a huge following and a long period on mis management.

We sign Ibra and it would be the signing of the summer, bar none.

Unless gollum signs his precious from Rag Madrid.

Have to agree, as big a maverick and as aged as he is, Ibra is a match winner.

Can't see us signing him however.

PSG remind me of what we tried to do, from a more advanced position. Bring in players that would take them those few steps to the top at massively inflated prices then get rid as soon as possible to steady the financial ship.

Ibra will not come to us under the old guise that we used to play. We are now more frugal with our money and looking for future prospects to take up the slack. Ibra is not in our mould.

The French under 20 keper is quite the shot stopper. Maybe we should get him in as an understudy for Hart :-)

It wasn't a very thought through post - just a knee jerk reaction to the penalty shoot out half an hour ago,

Apologies chum; it's just that France have a couple of young 'keepers who, allegedly, are quite useful i.e. Alphonse Areola and Maxine Dupe.

However, I don't know what either of them are like dealing with balls played in the air, so I was just interested and thought I'd ask.

Gollum would never give them a ring though, he's too selfish.

One of the best young players in Europe before his injury imo. Better at that age than Isco. Not followed him closely since his comeback but he is a class act, potentially world class in our team, IF he can handle the Prem.

City were scouting this lad when he was about 17 ( when he was fantastic).

I don't think the world has seen the best of him yet.

Yes I take your point on Jovetic, but he would at City, as he is at Fiorentina and Montenegro, be classified as a striker and the argument that there would be 4 strikers to keep sweet if we bought both Negredo and Jovetic would still be relevant. When it came to formations 1 of Aguero,Dzeko, Jovetic and Negredo would still be very underutilised or whichever 2 strikers join if that is going to be the case.

I see Pellers is saying Dzeko remains an important part of his plans in todays papers.

Can I just point back that Tevez was deployed in that deeper role last season and that may be the position Pellers is trying to fill.

I saw a Serbian site saying Jovetic fee agreed with Fiorentina 25 million euros plus bonuses. Also that the players representatives were flying in on Monday or Tuesday. That's pretty much the Sun's take. I'll be very surprised if he isn't a City player by the end of this week. I still think we'll be after Negredo simply because we've only got two out and out strikers in Aguero and Dzeko and that isn't enough for the season. That leaves the question of whether Pellegrini wants a replacement for Toure. I'm still not sure whether he sees Nasty as his automatic first choice or whether he sees Pepe in that role. Finally we have the question of whether Kolarov is going to Italy which looks likely and therefore whether we need a left back to back up Gael. Pellegrini could make do with Zabaleta or even Lescott from time to time I suppose.

I saw a report in some rag loving shite fuck-off paper that said Unishite to test Everton's resolve with an £8M bid for Leighton Baines. I think we should sneak in with £8,000,001 and see how that goes.

Fcuking hell, 8 mil, Kenworthy wouldn't even wipe his arse with an offer like that. What resolve would he need with such a shit offer.

Not sure if anyone else thinks Ibra won't come to us based on him not wanting to play second fiddle to Cavani at PSG?

This Jovetic rumour seems to be gathering pace, but I get the feeling his agent is whoring his arse to all and sundry. Negredo with the Spanish link looks the more realistic?

On another note it could be worse, just read this comment from a gooner....

@online_arsenal: Jovetic was as good as done for months, so they said. Now he's on the verge of joining City? Cesar as good as done. Now to Napoli? Higuain?
